What:  Ribbon-cutting for the new Hidden Falls Mixed Species Exhibit at Brandywine Zoo

Who:   DNREC Secretary Greg Patterson, Wilmington Mayor John Carney and representatives from the Delaware Zoological Society and DNREC Division of Parks and Recreation

When: Thursday, July 23, 11 a.m.

Where: Brandywine Zoo, 1001 N. Park Drive, Wilmington, Delaware 19802

Why:  The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control in conjunction with the Delaware Zoological Society will unveil a new year-round exhibit at Brandywine Zoo, with indoor and outdoor areas featuring five  species of animals impacted by loss of their natural habitat. The project was funded by $2.5 million in public and private donations.

The Previously Sold-Out Mystery Returns for its Third Summer Night of Adventure

Philadelphia, PA – Get ready for an unforgettable evening of mystery and excitement at Philadelphia Zoo! The third annual “Zoo Done It?,” in partnership with Without a Cue Productions, will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 5:30-8:30pm. New for this year, guests 16+ are welcome to this after-hours scavenger hunt and mystery experience that gives them the chance to uncover the secrets hidden within the Zoo’s enchanting grounds as they embark on a special quest. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best 1920’s apparel (with comfortable shoes, of course!).  Participants will try to solve the mystery with one winning an exclusive chance to return to the Zoo for spooky season and enjoy a private guided tour of The Solitude, a famous American historic landmark which is believed to be haunted. General admission tickets are on sale starting at $70 with early bird pricing expiring soon. Zoo members receive a $10 discount on all tickets. The event will be held at Philadelphia Zoo, located at 3400 W. Girard Avenue. Juveniles Charged in Winslow Township Shooting

Two juveniles were arrested and charged for their involvement in a Winslow Township shooting that happened in June, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Winslow Township Police Chief Donald Lemons.

A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Sicklerville, were charged with 1st-degree Attempted Murder, 1st-degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, 2nd-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, 2nd-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and 4th-degree Tampering with Evidence.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at approximately 9:59 p.m., officers from the Winslow Township Police Department responded to Locust Court in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located a gunshot victim – a 19-year-old male – inside a car that crashed into an unoccupied vehicle parked on Locust Court.  The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital and reported to be in critical but stable condition.

Democrat “Glitch” Registers Thousands of Noncitizens to Vote

Democrat New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill admitted today that a “software glitch” registered approximately 6,600 noncitizens to vote in her state between 2023 and 2024 — and hundreds of them actually cast ballots.

  It’s a rare treat to have old Jasper Blankenship come down from the diggins to stock up on supplies. And he favored us with stories at the Mule Barn this bright morning over coffee, too.

   “Well, Doc,” Jasper said, “you’re right. I wasn’t always a miner. Back during The War I had a job in the city at one of the big war plants, you know. I was a security guard and watched the gate. In those days, there was this one carpenter who just gave me the fits. He’d come out the gate at the end of the day with a wheelbarrow full of sawdust. I always stopped him and poked around in the sawdust and never found anything, but I just knew he was stealing something.”

Christmas in July & Bike Giveaway Event

Please join us today, Wednesday July 22nd from 5PM to 7PM at Mister Softee (3605 Haddonfield Road) for our Christmas in July Event. Summer Santa will be there, and we will have our bike giveaway as well. The bikes will be on display from 5PM until the raffle at 6PM. Each child present will be given two tickets that they can put in the bag for each bike they want to try to win. They can also put their tickets in the same bag to give them more of a chance to win a specific bike. Each winner will also be able to pick a helmet. We will then raffle off the rest of the helmets. A bike safety talk will happen at 615PM or at the conclusion of the raffle. Raffle tickets are free and you can get them at the event only.

Wanted: Suspects for Assault in the 17th District [VIDEO]

On July 9, 2026 at approximately 1:55 AM, the two (2) suspects were captured on surveillance video lingering around the McDonald’s parking lot located at 2901 Grays Ferry Avenue. Suspect #1 got into an argument with the victim, at which time suspect # 2 struck the victim, knocking the victim to the ground. The suspects then hit the victim several times until a bystander intervened. While the victim was on the ground, disoriented, the suspects took his food and began to walk away. The victim confronted the suspects, at which time the suspects attacked the victim again. The suspects then walked away, South on 29th Street from Grays Ferry Avenue.

Summer Concert; Christmas In July

Get ready for an unforgettable summer concert featuring Stealing Savanah! Join us for a patriotic drone show and a special appearance by Santa as we celebrate Christmas in July. It’s going to be an evening filled with fun!

The concert will take place on the “Great Lawn” at Connolly Park, located at 605 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043, beginning at 7:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, relax, enjoy the playground facilities, and have an enjoyable evening with friends and family.

All events offer free parking and admission, with food trucks and Courtyard Pub. Please note that the dog park will be closed during all events. Additionally, pets, alcohol, smoking, and vaping are not permitted.
