On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at approximately 12:09 p.m., officers from the 14th District responded to the area of the 5700 block of Boyer Street for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent chest wound and immediately transported him to Albert Einstein Medical Center. During treatment, medical personnel determined the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He is currently listed in stable condition.

Tuskegee Airman Invite Public to Explore Historic Exhibits

The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. continues to preserve and share the extraordinary legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen through ongoing community exhibits designed to educate, inspire and engage visitors of all ages.
Held at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Horsham Branch of American Heritage Federal Credit Union, the exhibits feature historical photographs, artifacts and educational displays highlighting the accomplishments, courage and lasting impact of the Tuskegee Airmen and the men and women who supported military aviation during World War II.

The Philadelphia Police Department is actively investigating three separate incidents that occurred this afternoon, resulting in two fatalities and one injury. Investigations remain ongoing across multiple districts, and no motives have been established at this time.
In the first incident, police responded to the 5700 block of Boyer Street for reports of an injured male. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from visible blood and trauma to his chest. Officers immediately transported the victim to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where medical staff determined that he had sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest. The victim is currently listed in stable condition, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
Shortly after, at approximately 2:21 PM, officers from the 18th District responded to a violent altercation on the highway at the 700 block of S. 60th Street involving two individuals. Preliminary findings indicate that a 35-year-old male stabbed a 42-year-old male, who then drew a firearm and shot the 35-year-old multiple times. Both men were transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where the 42-year-old was listed in stable condition, and the 35-year-old was pronounced deceased at 3:00 PM. The crime scene is currently being held, and the investigation is being handled by the Homicide Unit.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Shawn Caddell during a robbery in the city’s Logan neighborhood.
Investigators have released surveillance video stills depicting a male they are seeking to identify in connection with the homicide that occurred on Monday, July 6, 2026, inside a business located on the 4900 block of North Broad Street.

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at approximately 3:32 p.m., officers from the 9th District responded to the 2000 block of Hamilton Street for a report of a stabbing inside a property. Upon arrival, officers located a 21-year-old female suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported by Philadelphia Fire Department Medic to Jefferson Center City Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
At this time there is no motive or arrest; the investigation is ongoing and is being led by the Central Detective Division.
Down The Shore: SHIELD Task Force Inaugural Traffic Safety Enforcement

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland announced the successful completion of the inaugural enforcement operation conducted under the newly established Cape May County SHIELD Task Force (Safety on Highways through Intensive Enforcement & Law Enforcement Deployment).
On July 6, 2026, officers from multiple Cape May County law enforcement agencies participated in the SHIELD Traffic Initiative, a countywide, data-driven enforcement effort targeting roadway corridors identified through traffic crash analysis as having historically high rates of fatal and serious motor vehicle crashes. The initiative is designed to reduce dangerous driving behaviors through highly visible enforcement, interagency collaboration, and proactive public safety efforts.
