Wanted: Suspects for Assault in the 17th District [VIDEO]

On July 9, 2026 at approximately 1:55 AM, the two (2) suspects were captured on surveillance video lingering around the McDonald’s parking lot located at 2901 Grays Ferry Avenue. Suspect #1 got into an argument with the victim, at which time suspect # 2 struck the victim, knocking the victim to the ground. The suspects then hit the victim several times until a bystander intervened. While the victim was on the ground, disoriented, the suspects took his food and began to walk away. The victim confronted the suspects, at which time the suspects attacked the victim again. The suspects then walked away, South on 29th Street from Grays Ferry Avenue.

Summer Concert; Christmas In July

Get ready for an unforgettable summer concert featuring Stealing Savanah! Join us for a patriotic drone show and a special appearance by Santa as we celebrate Christmas in July. It’s going to be an evening filled with fun!

The concert will take place on the “Great Lawn” at Connolly Park, located at 605 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043, beginning at 7:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, relax, enjoy the playground facilities, and have an enjoyable evening with friends and family.

All events offer free parking and admission, with food trucks and Courtyard Pub. Please note that the dog park will be closed during all events. Additionally, pets, alcohol, smoking, and vaping are not permitted.

Storms have moved into parts of New Jersey and are expected to last into this evening, bringing heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and frequent lightning. More storms are also expected tomorrow afternoon and evening, with the possibility of strong activity. These conditions may cause power outages across PSE&G’s electric service territory.

Stabbing Investigation

The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on July 19 in the city’s 39th District.

At approximately 4:46 p.m., police responded to a call on the 4200 block of N. Hicks Street, where they located an adult  female victim suffering from stab wounds. Officers quickly transported the victim to Temple University Hospital for treatment.

The crime scene is currently being held by police as the investigation continues. 

At this time, a motive for the stabbing remains unknown. The investigation is being actively led by the Northwest Detectives division.

PHILADELPHIA PA (July 19, 2026) (CNBNews)--The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating three separate overnight and early morning incidents—a double shooting, a high-speed car crash, and a daytime stabbing—that occurred on Sunday, July 19, 2026. The following information is preliminary and subject to change as updates become available.

At approximately 2:45 AM, 2nd District officers and emergency personnel responded to a critical-injury, two-vehicle crash on the 7600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard.

Renee Carbin, 67, of Westville

Renee Carbin (nee Berry), age 67, of Westville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 16, 2026, at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees, NJ.

Born in Camden, NJ to the late Raymond P. Berry, Sr. and Annamae Berry (nee Calhoun), Renee was a graduate of Gloucester City High School. Known for her warm personality and bright spirit, she was a true social butterfly who loved connecting with people. For many years, she brought smiles to her community working as a deli clerk for Acme in Audubon, NJ, and was a proud member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 152. Above all else, Renee was an avid animal lover with a deeply compassionate heart. 

Renee was one of the kindest and most compassionate people you could ever meet, always willing to help anyone in need. She had a deep love for music and could often be found dancing with joy. Renee embraced life with enthusiasm, enjoying celebrations and creating lasting memories with family and friends. She especially cherished traveling with her sisters and her late cousin, Ronnie, to the Chesapeake in Maryland, where they shared many treasured moments together.

She is survived by her devoted children, Thomas Anthony Carbin, II (Stephanie Pierson) and Christina Renee Carbin. She was the cherished grandmother of Thomas A. Carbin, III and Jayson Sommerkamp. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Christine Brennan (the late Gary), Barbara Emmons (the late Brian) and Raymond P. Berry, Jr. (Terry), as well as her beloved nephew, Michael Helms, and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

NOAA Addresses Shark Depredation

NOAA announces the formation of a new committee to focus on understanding and mitigating shark depredation and develop a strategic plan to address the issue.

Commercial and recreational anglers are increasingly concerned about economic losses and lost catch from shark depredation.  

Stock assessments, acoustic tagging, and research are underway with an overarching goal of developing management approaches that benefit both fishermen and sharks.
