Municipal Aid Applications Being Accepted

The Sherrill Administration today announced the grant solicitation period for NJDOT’s Fiscal Year 2027 State Aid programs is now open. Starting today, Monday, April 20, applications will be accepted for Municipal Aid, Transit Village, Bikeway, and Safe Streets to Transit programs through July 1, 2026.

Road Closures and Detours

Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of April 20 to April 24. 

“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

PSE&G will be working on East Atlantic Avenue from Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a partial road eastbound between West Merchant Street & Dowling Avenue, a partial road closure eastbound between Chestnut Street & West Vassar Road.

Road Closures and Detours

The I-676 southbound Exit 1B to Collings Avenue/Collingswood is scheduled to be closed and detoured as a bridge replacement and paving project advances in Camden and Gloucester City, Camden County. In addition, the Collings Road ramp to I-676 southbound is also scheduled to be closed overnight next week.

Beginning at 11 p.m. Monday, April 20 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, April 21 and continuing each night through Thursday, April 23 at the same time, the I-676 southbound Exit 1B to Collings Avenue/Collingswood and the Collings Road ramp to I-676 southbound are scheduled to be closed. The closures are necessary for drainage installation. The following detours will be in place:

Road Closures and Detours In Camden County

Route 42 is scheduled to have lane closures at Black Horse Pike/Route 168 on Monday night to implement a long-term left lane closure in Gloucester Township, Camden County.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, April 13 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, the left and center lanes on Route 42 northbound are scheduled to be closed at Black Horse Pike/Route 168. The lane closures are necessary to place barrier and implement a long-term left lane closure. At least one lane will be maintained overnight.

Blackwood Kiwanis Little League Parade 4/11/26 8 AM to 930 AM

On Saturday , April 11, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, the Blackwood Kiwanis Little League Parade will take place along the Blackwood Railroad Trail.

Although most of the parade route will stay off main roads, traffic delays are still expected on Glenn Ave, Morris Ave, Marshall Ave, and W. Railroad Ave during this time.

GTPD Officers will be on scene to assist parade participants, residents, and motorists. Please use caution in the area.

Closure and detour necessary to complete drainage repairs

The I-76 westbound Exit 1D ramp to Route 130 northbound closure and detour has been extended until late April in Gloucester City, Camden County.

The I-76 westbound Exit 1D ramp to Route 130 northbound was closed and detoured on January 19 and was originally expected to be complete in late March. The work was delayed by severe winter weather, including major storms in January and February.

Road Closures and Detours

The I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured Tuesday through Thursday nights this week as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County. In addition, the right lane on I-76 eastbound is scheduled to be closed on the same nights. This is a continuation of work that began in January.

Beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, April 7 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 8 and continuing Wednesday and Thursday nights at the same time, the I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The right lane on I-295 southbound also will be closed just after Exit 28/Route 168, and the right lane on I-76 eastbound is scheduled to be closed after Exit 1B through Exit 1A. All motorists traveling on I-295 southbound will be directed to stay left onto Exit 26. The closures are necessary for bridge steel installation and retaining wall construction. The following detour will be in place:

Thursday, April 2

Beginning at 11 p.m. tonight, Thursday, April 2 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 3, the I-676 southbound Exit 1B to Collings Avenue/Collingswood and the Collings Road ramp to I-676 southbound are scheduled to be closed. The closures are necessary for saw cutting in preparation for upcoming drainage work. The following detour will be in place:

I-676 southbound Exit 1B to Collings Avenue/Collingswood Detour:

  • Motorists on I-676 southbound wishing to take Exit 1B will be directed to continue on I-676 southbound
  • Take Exit 1A to Route 130 North/Route 168 South/Camden/Trenton
  • Stay left to take the ramp to I-676 North/Camden/Gloucester
  • Stay right to take Exit 1 to Collings Avenue/Collingswood/Gloucester, back to Collings Road
