I am often asked….how do I transfer the title of a car or truck when the owner has died? If you need to transfer vehicle ownership you may do so at any Motor Vehicle Commission Agency. Please be aware of the following ~
If the title is in both the husband and wife’s name ~ Go to a Motor Vehicle Agency and submit the old title, a copy of the death certificate and a notarized Affidavit of Surviving Spouse (Motor Vehicle Commission Form BA-62). There will be a fee.
