Williams Scores 27 as Rowan Defeats NJCU, 73-61, to Advance to the NJAC Men’s Basketball Semifinals

Brycen Williams scored a game-high 27 points to lead fifth-seeded Rowan to a 73-61 win over fourth-seeded NJCU in the quarterfinals of the NJAC Men’s Basketball Championship. The Profs advance to the semifinals where they will travel to top-ranked Montclair State on Wednesday, February 25th at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the semifinal will go on sale at noon on Sunday at NJACsports.com/tickets. Electronic tickets only will be accepted – there will be no cash sales at the venue. 
 

Williams hit four three-pointers to lead the way while Taz Cantey scored 19 points and handed out six assists. Khalil Baker had nine points, as he shot 4-for-4, and eight rebounds.

The Profs hit eight threes in the game, shooting 42 percent, made 48 percent (11-of-23) from the field and went 19-for-32 from the foul line. Rowan limited NJCU (14-12) to just 1-of-10 from three-point range in the second half.

The teams were tied, 35-35, early in the second half. Rowan started to break away at the 13-minute mark as Williams scored nine points in a 13-1 run that gave the Profs a 60-46 lead with 6:14 remaining. NJCU got within 63-51, but that was the closest the home team would get the rest of the way, as a dunk by Khamai Orange with 3:57 to play expanded Rowan’s lead back up to 65-51.

Rowan made six free throws in the final three minutes to secure the victory.

Rowan led  22-11 in the first half, after a three-pointer by Cantey at 8:49 and then stretched it to 29-13 at 6:40 after seven consecutive points, with five from Williams. NJCU went on a 10-0 run to close within 29-23 with 3:12 remaining and the teams entered intermission with the Profs owning a 34-29 advantage.

The winner of Wednesday’s game will head to the NJAC Championship game on Saturday, February 28th at the site of the highest remaining seeded team.

Rosina Food Products, Inc. Recalls Ready-To-Eat Frozen Meatball Products Due To Possible Foreign Matter Contamination

Rosina Food Products, Inc., a West Seneca, N.Y. establishment, is recalling approximately 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) frozen meatball products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically metal, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

Travel Advisory – Winslow Twp. Police

The Winslow Township Police Department is urging all residents to stay off the roadways unless travel is absolutely necessary due to hazardous winter weather conditions. Snow and ice covered roads, along with downed trees and power lines are creating dangerous driving conditions throughout the township.

Winslow Twp. Public Works along with County and State crews are actively plowing and treating roadways. Limiting travel allows them to operate more effectively and helps keep our first responders safe while handling emergency calls.

If you must travel:

• Reduce your speed and use extra caution

• Increase your following distance

• Clear all snow and ice from your vehicle before driving

• Stay alert for plow trucks and emergency vehicles

We strongly encourage residents to remain home during the storm/cleanup and avoid unnecessary travel until overall conditions improve.

A Nation of Artists Joint Website Launch

The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts have launched a joint website for A Nation of Artists, offering a first look at this landmark dual-museum collaboration.

The exhibition brings together works spanning three centuries and features more than 1,000 pieces, blending historically underrepresented artists with established icons. The initiative is supported by The Middleton Family Collection.

The exhibition opens at both institutions on April 12, 2026.

Camden County Office of Emergency Management issues “Code Blue”

The Camden County Office of Emergency Management declared that Camden County will be under a Code Blue Advisory from for the following dates and times due to projected dangerously low temperatures by the National Weather Service:

Monday February 23, 7 p.m. – Tuesday February 24, 7 a.m.

• Projected temperature: 26°F

Tuesday February 24, 7 p.m. – Wednesday February 25, 7 a.m.

• Projected temperature: 23°F

Code Blue Advisories are declared when the National Weather Service predicts that the temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, or the wind chill temperature will be zero degrees Fahrenheit or lower for a period of two hours or more.

The Declaration’s Legacy

Independence National Historical Park, in partnership with the Independence Historical Trust and the World Affairs Council, will host a conversation exploring how the Declaration of Independence inspired movements around the world.

The panel takes place Feb. 26 from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. at the Independence Visitor Center and will be led by Dr. David Armitage, professor of history at Harvard University.

Advisory: Trash & Recycling Pickup Delayed One Day All Week

Waste Management will be closed today, February 23rd. Trash, recycling, and yard waste will be picked up ONE day late all week through Saturday.

Missing Person Alisa Donovan from the 24th District

The Philadelphia Police Department is searching for a local woman who disappeared from the Kensington neighborhood late last month. Alisa Donovan, 30, was last seen on January 30, 2026, and has had no contact with family or friends since that date. Donovan, who also goes by the nickname “Chachi,” resides on the 2900 block of Kensington Avenue.

She is described as a white female, 5 feet tall, and weighing approximately 165 pounds.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating her. Anyone with information regarding Donovan’s whereabouts is asked to contact the East Detective Division at 215-686-3243 or to call 911.
