HOME COUNTRY: It was like buzzards circling the body.

By Slim Randles | CNBNews ContributorSLIM

It was like buzzards circling the body.

The Jones kid, Randy, was out in the Mule Barn coffee shop parking lot with the hood up on his car. He was staring down into it the way a first-time parachutist would look out the airplane door. You never quite knew for sure what lay ahead.

“Looks like Randy’s got problems,” said Steve.

“Let’s have a look,” said Dud.

So coffee was left to get cold and the entire Supreme Court of All Things Mechanical – Steve, Dud, Doc, Herb and Dewey – trooped out to see what was going on.

They formed a powerful semi-circle of wisdom around the youth and his engine with folded arms and facial expressions that said, “It’s okay, Kid. We’re here.”

Dewey spoke first. “Having trouble, Randy?”

   “Won’t start.”

Doc, who has the most initials after his name, said, “Give it a try.”

Randy ground the engine, but it wouldn’t kick over.

“Stop! Stop!” Doc yelled. “Don’t want to flood it.”

All Doc knows about flooding is that the animals went on board, two by two.

“Randy, I think it’s the solenoid,” said Steve, looking wise. And of course he pronounced it sell-a-noid.

“Doesn’t have one, Steve,” Randy said.

“Sure it does. All cars have solenoids.”

“Not the new ones. Haven’t made solenoids in years.”

Steve’s expression said, “Young punks, what do they know?” But his voice said, “Well, what do you know about that?”

   “Need a jump?” Dewey asked.

“Got plenty of spark,” Randy said.

Randy looked at the older men and then bent to the engine and smiled. His voice came floating up over the radiator. “Might be the junction fibrillator. Or it could be a malfunction of the Johnson switch. If I rerun the wire from the organ housing to the pump by-pass, that might get it done.”

When Randy looked up, all the men had gone back in for coffee. He smile and called Triple A on his cell phone.

Guide to Casino Secret Tips and Strategies

In the ever-changing landscape of online casinos, Casino Secret has managed to build a reputation not just for flashy promotions, but for features that actually make sense for players. Launched in 2018 and licensed in Curaçao, it’s gained solid ground in markets like Japan and Singapore—and not just because of the game count. With a focus on real cashback and an easy-to-use mobile site, it quietly delivers more than you’d expect. Below is a comprehensive カジノシークレットレビュー, or Casino Secret review—a real-world look at what makes it click—and how to make the most of it.

Start Off Smooth: Easy Sign-Up & Free Spins Bonus

Getting started doesn’t feel like a chore here. The sign-up process is about as simple as it gets—just a few basic fields, and you’re in.

Real Tip: You’ll get 100 free spins just for registering. No deposit needed. It’s a low-pressure way to check things out, and honestly, it’s nice not to be immediately asked to spend money.

Don’t Sleep on the Cashback System

Here’s where Casino Secret sets itself apart. Instead of handing out bonus money tied to complicated rules, it offers up to 75% cashback (up to $1,500) on your first deposit—paid in actual, usable cash if you lose.

How to Play It Smart: A $200 deposit can return $150 back if things don’t go your way. Just be sure you’re playing eligible games (they’re marked clearly), and stick to the bet limits—$5 for slots, $25 for table/live.

It’s not just a gimmick. It’s genuinely one of the few setups that feels like it was built with the player in mind.

Tournaments That Actually Feel Worth It

Casino Secret runs regular competitions that give you an extra layer of fun—and a few more ways to win.

You’ll see contests like:

– Longest win streaks

– Biggest single spin win

– Total earnings

– Total betting volume

Player Insight: If you’re into volatile slots, aim for biggest win per spin contests. Games like Razor Shark or Moon Princess are solid bets—just brace for a few dry spins before the magic happens.

Pick Payment Options That Work for You

You’ve got flexibility here. Deposits start at just $20, with plenty of options—EcoPayz, iWallet, JCB, crypto. Withdrawals are just as smooth, capped at $50K/month.

What Works Best: EcoPayz and Match Better are your go-tos for quick withdrawals (usually under 24 hours). Avoid bank transfers unless you’re okay with waiting a few days—it’s just the way it is.

Play on the Go Without the Fuss

No need to download anything—just open your browser on mobile, and you’re in. The site’s layout adapts nicely, and gameplay of mobile casino games is solid even on slower connections.

Casual Play Tip: Try short, frequent sessions instead of long marathons. It helps with bankroll management and keeps the whole experience fun rather than draining.

Game Library That Doesn’t Disappoint

With titles from big-name providers like NetEnt, Play’n GO, Microgaming, and Evolution Gaming, you’re not stuck scrolling through junk. There’s real variety here.

Favorites Worth Trying:

– Book of Dead and Starburst—high RTP, classic feel

– For live games, stick to Blackjack or Baccarat if you care about house edge

– Hit the Japan TOP section for titles trending locally—always a good cue for where to start

Stay Plugged In: Campaigns & Promos

Casino Secret isn’t afraid to get creative. One recent promo sent players to Monaco to catch AS Monaco vs PSG—flights, hotel, and a photo op with Takumi Minamino included.

Tip to Remember: Follow @CasinoSecretJP and check the promotions tab often. The really good stuff tends to be limited-time, and they don’t always blast it everywhere.

Support You Can Rely On

Security is solid, and the platform sticks to responsible gaming standards—though the internal tools could be stronger. That said, their live chat support is reliable, open weekdays 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., and you can reach them by email 24/7.

From Experience: When in doubt, go to chat. It’s way faster than sorting through a FAQ page.

Bottom Line: Should You Play Here?

Casino Secret manages to be both straightforward and strategic. No hidden traps in the fine print, no flashy bait-and-switch offers. If you’re looking for a casino where bonuses are actually useful and you’re not penalized for cashing out too soon, this one’s worth a look.

The casino is highly recommended for players who care about real cashback, fast withdrawals, and a clean mobile experience.

Play smart, enjoy the ride, and who knows—maybe unlock a few secrets of your own along the way.

Local journalism ethics center on principles like accuracy, fairness, transparency, and accountability, tailored to the unique dynamics of small communities. Key considerations include:

  • Accuracy and Verification: Local reporters must verify information, especially in tight-knit areas where rumors spread fast. Missteps can erode trust. For example, CNBNews’s detailed crime reporting in Gloucester City emphasizes primary sources like police statements to ensure factual accuracy.
  • Fairness and Balance: Representing all sides of a story is critical, even when covering divisive issues like local politics or development. Journalists should avoid favoritism, which can be challenging when personal relationships with sources are common in small towns.
  • Transparency: Disclosing conflicts of interest, such as ties to local businesses or officials, is essential. For instance, William Cleary’s open conservative stance at CNBNews signals his perspective, helping readers contextualize his coverage.
  • Community Impact: Local outlets must weigh the consequences of their reporting. Sensationalizing crime can stoke fear, while ignoring it may downplay real issues. Ethical journalists aim to inform without exploiting sensitive topics.
  • Independence: Resisting pressure from local advertisers, politicians, or community leaders is vital. Small outlets like CNBNews, reliant on local support, must navigate this carefully to maintain credibility.
  • Privacy and Harm: Respecting residents’ privacy, especially in cases involving minors or victims, is crucial. Ethical local journalists avoid unnecessary intrusion while still serving the public interest.

Challenges include limited resources, which can strain fact-checking, and the risk of “cozy” relationships with sources, which can compromise objectivity. The Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics emphasizes seeking truth, minimizing harm, and acting independently—principles that apply directly to local journalism’s high-stakes, hyper-personal context.

William E. Cleary Sr. embarked on his exciting journalism journey in 1967, working for the family’s newspapers. By 1978, he stepped into the role of editor for the Camden County Record and the Gloucester City News, showcasing his passion for storytelling and community. In 1985, he and his wife, Connie, proudly purchased the newspaper from his beloved parents, George F. Sr. and Mazie Cleary. Though Albert Countryman took over operations in 2005, Cleary remained dedicated to the paper until 2013. In 2006, he launched ClearysNoteBook, an innovative internet news site set to celebrate its incredible 19th anniversary in 2025!

America Can’t Afford to Play Favorites in the Quest for Energy Independence

By Kent Bartley

President Trump has made energy independence a pillar of his second-term agenda. Within hours of taking office, he declared a National Energy Emergency and signed executive orders to accelerate domestic oil and gas production.

His message was clear. America must no longer rely on foreign energy. But securing true energy independence will require more than just drilling. Our nation needs to unleash every viable American-made energy resource — both fossil fuels and renewables.

Indeed, President Trump has an opportunity to redefine energy dominance — not by choosing sides but by embracing an energy strategy that is as resilient as the country it powers.

That resilience is going to be tested. By one estimate, domestic electricity consumption will increase nearly 16% by 2029 — a drastic acceleration compared with the past two decades, when demand crept up by just 0.5% annually.

Meeting this surge won’t be easy, what with wars, supply chain disruptions, and energy price swings threatening to upend global markets on a seemingly daily basis.

Plenty of domestic energy resources are hiding in plain sight. Each year, the United States throws away up to 40% of its food supply. Much of it ends up in landfills, where it rots and releases methane, a greenhouse gas more potent than carbon dioxide.

That rot represents energy wasted. Anaerobic digestion can capture it — and allow us to put it to good use.

Dairy farms are already deploying this strategy. Instead of letting manure from their cows pile up and release methane into the atmosphere, the farm feeds it into an anaerobic digester. Microbes break down the organic matter. The result is biogas, a powerful renewable fuel that can generate electricity, heat water, or even be refined into a pipeline-ready fuel that integrates seamlessly into the existing natural gas infrastructure.

The remaining material — called digestate — is transformed into a natural fertilizer that enriches the soil without synthetic chemicals.

The United States has plenty of waste beyond cow manure for fueling anaerobic digestion. Food waste, farm byproducts, and other organic materials are being discarded every day. Diverting even a fraction of that waste from landfills could deliver a serious boost to our energy security.

For too long, energy policy in the United States has waffled between favoring fossil fuels and favoring renewables. But that’s the wrong dichotomy. There’s widespread consensus that domestic energy is superior to foreign-sourced energy. That principle should be our guiding light.

Across the country, companies are pioneering breakthroughs in tidal power, green hydrogen, advanced geothermal energy, and next-generation solar cells. These innovations don’t compete with traditional energy sources. They reinforce and strengthen them. They can secure America’s energy independence and make the entire system more durable in the face of geopolitical instability.

Energy independence will not be won by choosing sides but by embracing every American energy resource that moves us toward that goal.

Emerging Poker Styles In 2025

In 2025, poker enthusiasts can expect an array of new styles and formats gaining attention in the digital space. Innovations such as short deck poker and six-plus hold’em have already started to attract interest. These variations introduce fresh strategies, making games more dynamic and challenging for players seeking something beyond traditional formats.

Online platforms are incorporating these emerging styles into their offerings. This adaptability ensures that the platform remains appealing to both novice and experienced players alike. As player preferences evolve, the diversity of poker styles continues to grow. Casinia also supports these emerging variants, ensuring that players can explore a wide range of innovative approaches.

Innovations In Platform Technology

The technological advancements transforming online poker are not just limited to game styles but extend to the platforms themselves. Enhanced graphics, real-time data analytics, and improved user interfaces redefine how players engage with games. By adopting cutting-edge technologies, online platforms offer an immersive and interactive gaming experience.

One significant trend is the integration of virtual reality (VR) elements into poker games. This innovation enables players to enjoy a more lifelike gaming environment from the comfort of their homes. With VR capabilities, the poker experience becomes akin to sitting at a real poker table. Additionally, casinia is exploring new VR features to enhance players’ immersion and elevate their gaming experience.

Artificial intelligence (AI) also plays a crucial role in enhancing gameplay. AI-driven features offer personalized recommendations based on playing history and preferences. This technology helps tailor the gaming experience to individual players’ styles.

Player Preferences And Strategic Approaches

As player preferences continue to evolve, understanding these shifts becomes essential for success at the tables. Today’s players seek games that offer more than just entertainment; they desire challenges that test their strategic acumen. Online platforms address this demand by offering diverse game options that cater to various skill levels.

The rise of online communities has significantly impacted how strategies are developed and shared among players. Many now engage in discussions on forums and social media platforms to refine their tactics collectively. This trend highlights the importance of community engagement in modern poker.

In addition to community-driven strategies, individual skill development remains crucial. Players who continually adapt their strategies are more likely to excel in this dynamic landscape. Resources that help sharpen skills are invaluable for preparing players for any challenge they might face.

Online Gambling in the U.S.: Debunking the Myths and Understanding the Realities

Online gambling has become one of the most discussed and misunderstood topics in American culture over the past decade. As more states explore legalization, regulation, and taxation of digital wagering platforms—including sports betting, casino games, and poker—public opinion remains split. Fueled by media portrayals and long-standing stigmas, many Americans still operate under misconceptions about what online gambling entails and who participates in it.

In this article, we’ll separate myth from reality to shed light on what online gambling will really look like in 2025 and what that means for individuals, lawmakers, and communities across the United States.

Myth #1: Online Gambling Is Illegal in the U.S.

Reality: Online gambling is legal in many U.S. states—under the right conditions.

A common myth is that all online gambling is illegal in the United States. The truth is more nuanced. Online gambling legality varies by state. Some states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan have fully regulated markets that include online casinos, poker, and sports betting. Others, such as Utah and Texas, have stricter laws prohibiting most forms of online gambling.

At the federal level, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) of 2006 restricts certain financial transactions related to illegal online gambling—but it doesn’t outright ban gambling itself. Instead, UIGEA leaves it up to individual states to regulate or prohibit digital wagering within their own borders.

For example, residents in New Jersey can access licensed platforms where they can safely find poker rooms online and participate legally. This is a growing trend, not an outlier.

Myth #2: Online Gambling Is More Addictive Than Traditional Gambling

Reality: Online gambling offers tools for safer play if used responsibly.

Another prevalent myth is that gambling online is inherently more addictive because it’s always accessible. While it’s true that convenience can lead to increased engagement, most licensed platforms offer robust responsible gambling features, such as:

  • Deposit and betting limits
  • Session time reminders
  • Self-exclusion programs
  • Reality checks to track user behavior

Moreover, these digital tools are easier to monitor and enforce than those in physical casinos, where impulse behavior often goes unchecked.

According to the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), the rate of problem gambling among online users is not significantly higher than among those who gamble in person—especially in regulated environments that emphasize education and prevention.

Myth #3: Online Gambling Is Rigged and Unsafe

Reality: Regulated platforms are held to high standards for fairness and security.

A significant number of skeptics argue that online gambling platforms are “rigged” or designed to cheat players. While shady offshore websites can indeed pose risks, this is not the case with regulated, U.S.-licensed platforms.

Licensed operators in states like New Jersey and Michigan undergo extensive vetting by gaming commissions. This includes:

  • Rigorous audits of their Random Number Generators (RNGs)
  • Oversight of payout percentages
  • Continuous monitoring for fairness

These standards ensure that legal sites operate transparently and provide the same level of fairness as land-based casinos. Furthermore, all personal and financial data is protected through end-to-end encryption, similar to what’s used by online banking systems.

For readers in Gloucester City and beyond, this distinction matters: choosing a regulated platform ensures safety, transparency, and recourse in the rare case something does go wrong.

Myth #4: Only Young People Gamble Online

Reality: Online gambling spans all age groups—from millennials to retirees.

Contrary to popular belief, online gambling is not dominated solely by tech-savvy Gen Z or millennial players. In fact, older demographics are increasingly engaging in digital wagering, particularly retirees looking for leisure activities.

According to a Pew Research Center report, internet usage among Americans aged 65+ has more than doubled in the past 10 years. This means more retirees are exploring digital platforms—not just for social media or video calls, but also for hobbies like online poker, digital lotteries, and virtual slot machines.

The accessibility of mobile devices, along with intuitive app design, has opened the door for older users who enjoy the convenience of playing from home.

Myth #5: Online Gambling Hurts Local Economies

Reality: Regulated online gambling can generate significant revenue for local and state governments.

Some critics argue that online gambling cannibalizes local entertainment or harms traditional brick-and-mortar businesses. In reality, when properly regulated, online gambling can bolster state revenues without displacing local jobs.

States that have legalized and taxed online gambling report millions in annual revenue, which is then reinvested into public infrastructure, education, and addiction treatment programs. According to the American Gaming Association, New Jersey collected over $500 million in gaming taxes in 2023, with a sizable portion coming from online platforms.

Local publications like Gloucester City News can play a vital role in educating residents about how such revenue benefits community programs and public services.

Final Thoughts: Navigating the Future of Digital Gambling

The conversation around online gambling in the U.S. is evolving. As more states move toward legalization and regulation, understanding the truth behind these widespread myths becomes increasingly important.

Online gambling is not a lawless or dangerous frontier—it’s a growing, regulated industry that offers entertainment, economic growth, and even safer alternatives to in-person gambling when managed responsibly.

Whether you’re exploring it for leisure or just curious about where the future is headed, the key is education. Know your local laws. Use licensed platforms. Set personal limits. And always prioritize safety and transparency over hype or hearsay.

As digital platforms expand, Americans will need balanced, factual guidance more than ever. And that starts with debunking the myths—one article at a time.

7 Benefits of Liposculpture on the Gold Coast

When it comes to achieving a more sculpted and contoured physique, liposculpture has quickly become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures on the Gold Coast. Unlike traditional liposuction, which simply removes fat, liposculpture is a more refined technique that reshapes the body by both removing and redistributing fat to create natural, aesthetically pleasing contours.

Whether you’re targeting stubborn love handles, defining your abs, or enhancing curves, here are seven compelling benefits of undergoing liposculpture Gold Coast.

Precision Body Contouring

One of the biggest advantages of liposculpture is its ability to target specific areas with incredible precision. This advanced technique allows experienced cosmetic practitioners to selectively remove fat from problem areas such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, chin, or back, and then sculpt the surrounding tissue to create smooth, defined lines.

This precision is ideal for individuals who are close to their goal weight but struggle with isolated fat deposits that don’t respond to diet or exercise.

Natural-Looking Results

Unlike traditional fat removal methods, liposculpture is designed to enhance your natural anatomy rather than dramatically altering it. The focus is on symmetry and proportion, ensuring that your new shape looks balanced and harmonious with your existing features.

This makes liposculpture especially appealing for those who want subtle, refined changes that enhance their appearance without looking overdone.

Minimally Invasive Procedure

Liposculpture typically uses smaller instruments and involves less trauma to the surrounding tissues compared to older forms of liposuction. This means reduced bruising, less swelling, and a quicker recovery time.

Many Gold Coast clinics offer tumescent or VASER-assisted liposculpture, which further minimises discomfort and improves safety. Most procedures are performed under local anaesthesia, allowing you to avoid the risks associated with general anaesthesia.

Quick Recovery and Minimal Downtime

Thanks to the minimally invasive nature of the procedure, most patients can return to work and light activities within a few days. While strenuous exercise should be avoided for a couple of weeks, the relatively fast recovery makes liposculpture a popular option for busy professionals or parents looking to improve their physique without significant downtime.

Long-Lasting Results

As long as you maintain a stable weight and healthy lifestyle, the results of liposculpture can be long-lasting.

Fat cells that are removed do not regenerate, which means your new body shape can be maintained indefinitely. Many patients find that the procedure motivates them to continue leading a healthier lifestyle to preserve their enhanced figure.

Boosted Confidence and Self-Esteem

It’s no secret that how you feel about your body can have a major impact on your confidence. Liposculpture helps individuals feel more comfortable and confident in their own skin. Whether you want to wear a swimsuit more comfortably on the Gold Coast beaches or feel better in fitted clothing, the confidence boost can be life-changing.

Access to Leading Cosmetic Professionals on the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is home to some of Australia’s most experienced and highly regarded cosmetic clinics, offering state-of-the-art technology and personalised care. From your initial consultation to your post-operative recovery, local clinics often provide comprehensive support, ensuring the highest standards of safety, aesthetics, and client satisfaction. Many clinics even offer flexible payment plans, making liposculpture more accessible than ever.

Conclusion

Liposculpture is more than just a fat removal procedure, it’s a transformative treatment that can redefine your body contours and restore your confidence. Whether you’re preparing for a beachside holiday, post-baby body restoration, or simply want to enhance your natural shape, the Gold Coast offers world-class options in a beautiful, relaxing environment.

Always consult with a qualified, experienced cosmetic practitioner to determine if liposculpture is the right choice for your goals. With the right approach, you can enjoy natural-looking, long-lasting results that truly reflect your best self.

Top Features to Look for in Board Management Software

In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, board meetings have evolved beyond traditional paper-based processes. Board management software has become an essential tool for modern governance, streamlining everything from meeting preparation to secure document sharing. But with so many options on the market, how do you choose the right one?

Whether you’re part of a corporate board, nonprofit, or educational institution, the right software can save time, reduce costs, and improve decision-making. Here are the top features to look for when selecting board management software.

User-Friendly Interface

One of the most important aspects of any software is ease of use. Board members often have varying levels of tech proficiency, so your board management solution should be intuitive and straightforward. Look for software with a clean interface, easy navigation, and minimal learning curve. Dashboards that summarize upcoming meetings, tasks, and recent documents are particularly helpful.

Robust Security

Board-level discussions often involve confidential and sensitive information. The software must offer enterprise-grade security features including:

  • End-to-end encryption
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • Granular user permissions
  • Compliance with industry standards like GDPR, SOC 2, and HIPAA

Make sure the provider has a strong security policy and regular third-party audits to protect your data.

Agenda Management and Collaboration Tools

An effective board meeting starts with a clear agenda. Look for software that lets you:

  • Create, edit, and share agendas in real-time
  • Attach documents to agenda items
  • Track changes with version history
  • Enable real-time collaboration among board members and administrators

These tools help everyone stay on the same page before and during meetings.

Document Management and Archiving

Good board management software makes it easy to organize and access board materials. Key features include:

  • Centralized document repository
  • Ability to upload, store, and annotate documents
  • Keyword search functionality
  • Automatic archiving of past meetings and files

This ensures board members can find what they need quickly, even during a meeting.

Meeting Scheduling and Notifications

Coordinating meeting times can be a logistical headache. Your software should offer integrated scheduling tools such as:

  • Calendar sync with Outlook, Google Calendar, and others
  • Availability tracking for participants
  • Automated meeting invitations and reminders
  • Time zone management for global boards

Built-in scheduling tools streamline logistics and reduce back-and-forth communication.

Minutes and Action Tracking

Capturing meeting minutes and assigning tasks is a key part of board productivity. The software should allow:

  • Real-time minute-taking during the meeting
  • Assigning tasks with deadlines and status tracking
  • Sharing meeting summaries with attendees
  • Automatic follow-up reminders for action items

Mobile Access and Offline Capability

Board members are often on the go, so mobile compatibility is a must. Look for:

  • Offline access to documents and agendas
  • Mobile-friendly annotation and note-taking features

This ensures board members can stay informed and engaged, even without internet access.

For critical decisions and official documentation, the ability to vote electronically and sign documents securely is invaluable. Key features include:

  • Anonymous or recorded voting options
  • Customizable voting templates
  • Legally binding e-signature functionality
  • Time-stamped vote and signature records

These tools make it easy to handle board approvals efficiently and compliantly.

Custom Branding and Configuration

Every organization is unique, so flexibility matters. The best software allows:

  • Custom branding with your logo and colors
  • Configurable workflows and user roles
  • Multilingual support (if needed)
  • Integration with other tools such as CRM or file storage systems

Tailoring the software to fit your needs enhances the user experience and alignment with your governance model.

Responsive Customer Support

Even the best tools need occasional troubleshooting or training. Choose a provider that offers:

  • 24/7 customer support
  • Live chat, phone, and email assistance
  • Onboarding and training sessions

Reliable support ensures your board can operate smoothly without unnecessary downtime.
