WOODBURY NJ (November 12, 2015)–Officers of the U.S. Marshal’s Service-Camden Division, and the Fugitive Investigations Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, arrested Louisiana work release escapee Michael J. Massaro, age 38) at a Williamstown NJ residence.

Massaro was taken into custody without incident at a Greenbriar Dr. address on 11/9 after officers surrounded the residence and made contact with the occupants. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice, turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department and placed in the Salem County Jail without bail pending an extradition hearing to determine whether he will return to Louisiana voluntarily.

PHILADELPHIA — The Coast Guard rescued two people Friday from a sinking vessel in Great Egg Harbor east of Somers Point, New Jersey.

Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders received a call from 911 dispatchers at approximately 11:30 a.m. that a 16-foot recreational boat was taking on water with two people aboard.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, was diverted from a training flight and arrived on scene approximately 20 minutes after the 911 call.

MAYBE A LIGHTED ATHLETIC FIELD AT NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL—The Gloucester City Board of Education, by a vote of 8-1 authorized a design change for the new Middle School to include an athletic field lighting proposal. The additional cost would be$125,000 just to install the conduit. Stadium lights and poles would be extra. The money would come from the district’s capital improvements fund. The state would have to approve the change and the district would have to comply with contract laws and bidding requirements.
