Pennsylvania Slot Machine Revenue for September Increases by Four Percent

 

HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board posted on its web site today the monthly report for total revenue generated from the play of slot machines at casinos during September.

According to the report, September gross revenue from slot machines at the 12 casinos was $187,599,888, a 4% jump in revenue when compared to the $180,311,642 generated in September 2014. Tax revenue in September of this year was $100,240,924.

Threats at Pine Hill school being investigated, Juvenile in custody

On October 5, 2015 at approximately 8:25am the Pine Hill Police Department was contacted by Pine Hill School District staff regarding threats to harm others made by a student. The Pine Hill SRO was at the facility as part of programs associated with Respect Week and immediately coordinated with school staff to ensure no students or staff members were in danger. The student was taken into custody without incident and the investigation is on-going.

Grocery Store Owner Charged With Trafficking SNAP Benefits

PHILADELPHIA – Mohammed Uddin, 51, of Philadelphia, PA, was charged by indictment, unsealed today, with defrauding a government assistance program, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. Uddin is charged with 15 counts of wire fraud and 13 counts of trafficking in SNAP benefits. SNAP is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as the federal Food Stamp program, run by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service to reduce and end hunger in the United States.
