Weaponized drones are all the rage for North Dakota police

As the proliferation of law enforcement drones expands, so do the concerns about privacy, accountability, and police surveillance in general. Residents of North Dakota now have to be concerned about the use of \”non-lethal\” weapons on police drones.

In April, Gov. Jack Dalrymple signed the now controversial House Bill 1328. The stated intent of the bill is \”AN ACT to provide for limitations on the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle for surveillance.\” The bill goes on to say in Section 5:

A law enforcement agency may not authorize the use of, including granting a permit to use, an unmanned aerial vehicle armed with any lethal weapons.

Nowhere in the language of the bill are non-lethal weapons mentioned as prohibited on law enforcement drones.

Trooper Chad Wolf was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle.

Trooper Wolf was on motorcycle patrol and traveling northbound in the right lane of Dixie Highway and crossing over southbound I-75 when a vehicle towing an empty trailer traveling in the left lane quickly changed lanes in an attempt to access the I-75 entrance ramp. As the vehicle changed lanes, it struck Trooper Wolf\’s motorcycle. Trooper Wolf was dragged for several miles on I-75 before the driver pulled over at a rest area.

Major League Baseball Fights Minor Leaguers in Court

$\"\"$ SAN FRANCISCO (CN) – Major League Baseball on Thursday asked a federal judge to dismiss Minor League players\’ antitrust class action lawsuit that accuses the 30 teams of conspiring with the commissioner to fix their salaries.
Lead plaintiff Sergio Miranda sued Office of the Commissioner of Baseball and the 30 Major League teams in December 2014.
Miranda claims that Major League Baseball\’s reserve clause lets teams restrict Minor League players from negotiating with other teams for seven years, denying them \”the freedom of movement available to players in virtually all other professional sports in the United States.\”
Average salaries of Major Leaguers have risen by more than 2,000 percent since 1976, while Minor Leaguers\’ pay increased by just 75 percent, according to the original complaint.

The Best Of Times is a memorable look back at the 1950’s and 1960’s and should be entertaining to watch for anyone that grew up in that era. Since I was born in the 1960’s it was a little before my time but I still enjoy the music and looking at the muscle cars as I’ve always had a thing for the oldies since I was a kid. Steven P. Mund, of Brooklawn age 31

On August 27, 2015. Age 31. Of Brooklawn.

Peacefully after a long illness surrounded by his loving Parents : Philip H. Mund, Jr. and Margaret I. (nee Sayers). Devoted brother of Jodie Boos and Renee Mund. Survived by many loving and devoted friends and family.

Steven was born in Camden and raised in Brooklawn. He was a graduate of Gloucester City High School Class of 2002. Steven worked as a nuclear technician for Bartlett Inc.

Construction on the New $87 Million Gloucester City Elementary School is Underway

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ—Work on the Gloucester City Middle School is progressing. This past week $\"IMG_0242\"$ Ironworkers were setting the beams and laying the decking on the three- story building using a 35-foot crane (click image to enlarge). Funding for the $64 million project, located on Market Street between Fifth and Sixth Streets is coming from the state’s School Development Authority (SDA).

Last August Edye Maier, SDA Public Information Manager, said that figure includes $42 million for the design-build contract, along with the costs for items such as land acquisition, relocation, demolition, and remediation.

Maier was asked if there would be any future construction costs?
