Criminal probe secrets center on Christie’s second-in-command

The public’s right to know the outcome of a criminal probe of an alleged $245,000 pension fraud involving New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno will be debated next week in state appellate court.

New Jersey Watchdog is appealing a lower court’s decision not to release the findings of an investigation by the state attorney general’s Division of Criminal Justice. Oral arguments are scheduled to be heard next Wednesday at Rutgers Law School in Camden.

Route 168 ramp to I-295 to be closed this weekend in Bellmawr

(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the ramp from Route 168 southbound to I-295 southbound will be closed this weekend as the Direct Connection project advances in Camden and Gloucester counties.

NJDOT contractor, Conti Enterprises, will close the ramp from Route 168 southbound to I-295 southbound starting Friday, August 28 at 9:00 p.m. until Monday, August 31 at 5:00 a.m. for pavement reconstruction.

The following detour will be in effect for those trying to access Route 168 westbound from I-295 northbound:

EPA withholds mine spill documents from Congress

A congressional committee blasted the Environmental Protection Agency today for blocking release of documents related to the Gold King mine disaster, which poured deadly chemicals into the largest source of drinking water in the West.

\”It is disappointing, but not surprising, that the EPA failed to meet the House Science Committee’s reasonable deadline in turning over documents pertaining to the Gold King Mine spill,\” said Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX). \”These documents are essential to the Committee’s ongoing investigation and our upcoming hearing on Sept. 9. But more importantly, this information matters to the many Americans directly affected in western states, who are still waiting for answers from the EPA.\”

Sergeant Peggy Vassallo was struck and killed by a vehicle while rendering aid to another driver after being involved in an accident shortly before 8:00 am.

Sergeant Vassallo, who was in full uniform, was en route to work when she was involved in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Lindbergh Blvd and Old Jamestown Rd, in St. Louis County. The other driver was complaining of neck pain, prompting Sergeant Vassallo to contact dispatchers to request medical assistance.

On August 27, 2015. Age 78. Of Gloucester City. Loving husband of Carol (nee Palmer). Also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother and sister.

Ray proudly served our country in the U.S Marine Corps. He retired from Wheaton Village in Millville.

Gloucester City Police Arrest an Alleged King and Queen on Pot Charges and Other Related Crimes

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ (CNBNEWSNET)–Gloucester City Police on Thursday, August 27 at $\"S-crime\"$ 8:45 PM arrested two South Burlington Street residents on marijuana charges and other related crimes. One of the suspects, Amanda Mayer, stated that police could not arrest her husband, Sherman Green, age 38, because he is the \”king\” and \”God.\” And she is the \”queen.\”

On 08/27 at 2045 an officer observed a male sitting in his vehicle on the unit block of S. Burlington Street playing music at an extremely loud level. The officer approached and observed the male smoking marijuana inside of the vehicle. He was removed and placed under arrest. As officers were placing the male under arrest, the suspect’s wife exited the residence and told officers that what they were doing was wrong because he is the \”king\” and \”God.\” She further stated that she was the \”queen.\”

Cape May County Prosecutor Releases Operation Dreamchaser Indictment

Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announced that on August 25, 2015, the Cape May County Grand Jury returned an Indictment in connection with the \”Operation Dreamchaser\” investigation, a several month long large-scale narcotics investigation initiated in January 2015 by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force, culminating in the execution of numerous arrests and search warrants throughout Cape May County on May 7, 2015.
