Choosing political ambition over transparency, Gov. Chris Christie plans to appeal a Superior Court decision that ordered him to reveal a key cog in his taxpayer-funded publicity machine – a multi-tiered, high-tech list of 2,500 media contacts.

In court papers, deputy attorney general Daniel M. Vannella asked Judge Mary C. Jacobson to grant a stay pending appeal, claiming release of the record would cause the governor \”irreparable harm.\”

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 19-year-old man Tuesday from the Appalachian Trail of the Delaware Water Gap, Pa.

Watchstanders at the 5th Coast Guard District received a request for an agency assist to rescue the man, who fell from a tree.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City responded to the call Tuesday at approximately 4 a.m., arrived on scene at approximately 5 a.m. and hoisted the man, who suffered multiple serious injuries including fractures and lacerations.

NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Reaches Settlement with Newton Audi/Newton Volkswagen

NEWARK – The Office of the Attorney General and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs have reached a settlement with JDN AA, LLC (\”JDN AA\”), which operates Newton Audi and Newton Volkswagen auto dealerships, resolving an action filed by the State in June 2015. As part of the settlement, JDN AA, LLC has agreed to pay $50,000 to the State. This payment includes $31,655.95 in civil penalties, with the balance reimbursing the State for its legal and investigative costs.

\”These actions and the resulting settlements should send the message that dealerships must comply with state consumer protection laws or risk serious legal consequences,\” said Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman. \”This settlement ensures that consumers will receive transparency and honesty from this dealership, as required by law.\”
