Obituary | Eleanor Mickewicz of Runnemede age 94

Born: June 28, 1921
Died: July 28, 2015

 

Eleanor Mickewicz went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2015. She was 94 years old.

Beloved wife of the late Bill Mickewicz for 46 years. Devoted mother of Sophie D’Agostino (Robert) and Carole Ann Covert (James). Loving grandmother of Michael and Victoria Egnak and William Covert. Also survived by niece, Irene Abrams, and her family, as well as nephews, Ludwik and Stanley Samselski.

Eleanor was born and grew up in Camden, NJ. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary and High Schools. She worked as a floor supervisor for Campbell Soup. She moved to Runnemede in 1957 and resided there for 56 years until moving to the loving care of St. Mary’s Catholic Home in Cherry Hill.

Eleanor was an active member in the Runnemede Senior Citizens Club. She was the co-founder, along with her husband, and an auxiliary member of TAG, The Amputee Group, of Cooper Hospital. She loved reading the newspaper to keep abreast of current events and playing cards. She faithfully watched midnight mass on TV and was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

There will be a viewing from 8:15 to 9:15am Monday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass 10am at Holy Child Parish, St. Maria Goretti RC Church, 321 Orchard Avenue, Runnemede, NJ 08078.

Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eleanor’s name to St. Mary’s Catholic Home, 210 St. Mary’s Drive, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.

Joel Junior Lantigua-Lora, 28, of Philadelphia, PA, was charged today by Indictment with illegal reentry after deportation, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment alleges that on or about June 24, 2015, Lantigua-Lora, an alien, and native and citizen of the Dominican Republic, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about August 23, 2012.
