With temperatures expected to reach into 90s over the next few days, the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) is encouraging residents to take steps to avoid heat exhaustion and heat stroke. 

\”Heat stroke is a life-threatening condition and heat exhaustion can also require hospital care,\” said Health Commissioner Mary E. O\’Dowd. \”In extremely hot weather, it is vital to drink plenty of fluids, spend time in cool places and reduce or reschedule any physical activity. And please remember to check on elderly family members and neighbors to make sure they are safe.\”

Mildred C. Vets (nee Marston), on July 19, 2015; formerly of Runnemede NJ, Spring Hill FL, and a longtime resident of Villas NJ. Age 103.

Mildred was predeceased by her husband, John P. Vets, a former upholsterer in Haddonfield NJ. She was cherished by her children John \”Jack\” (Norma), William \”Bill\” (Elaine), and Marie Victor (Frank). Beloved grandmother of Philip Vets, Robert Vets, David Victor, Steven Vets, John Victor, and the late Anne and great grandmother of seven. Also survived by many great great grandchildren and step grandchildren.

Mildred enjoyed traveling across the country with her late husband in their Airstream trailer. Her greatest enjoyment however was sitting on her porch at her home in the Villas by the Delaware Bay.

There will be a viewing from 9:15 to 10:15am Friday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass 11am Friday at Holy Child Parish, St. Teresa RC Church, Runnemede. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
