GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ–The Gloucester Township Police Department is proud to announce the retirement of Police K-9 Brutus. K-9 Brutus is a 9 year old German Shepherd who has loyally served his community and department alongside his handler Cpl. James Kaelin since December 2007.

K-9 Brutus was assigned with Cpl. Kaelin to the Patrol Bureau working as a nationally certified K-9 conducting narcotics scent work, numerous tracks, building clearings and other patrol duties. K-9 Brutus attended his K-9 training academy from September – December 2007. Cpl. Kaelin became a handler at the inception of the K-9 Unit in 1999. In addition to K-9 Brutus, Cpl. Kaelin has served with his first K-9 partner \”Atos\”.

\”I commend K-9 Brutus and Cpl. Kaelin for their dedication and commitment to the Gloucester Township Police Department and to the community of Gloucester Township. Together their actions helped protect many officers and helped apprehend some of our most dangerous criminals.\” said Chief Harry Earle.

K-9 Brutus, one of GTPD’s finest, will now be able to spend his days resting as a family pet with the Kaelin family.

The names of five cancer centers were missing from Surgeon Scorecard. We have updated the database so you can now find them.

Some readers have noted that, although many prostate surgeries are performed at cancer centers, several, such as Memorial Sloan Kettering, seemed to be missing from our new Surgeon Scorecard database.

An undercover video was released Tuesday of a top official at Planned Parenthood discussing the sale of organs harvested from aborted babies.

In its 2013-14 annual report, Planned Parenthood claimed it has \”come a long way\” as \”our movement has come so far in nearly one hundred years—and we are building momentum.\”

This momentum Planned Parenthood extols includes $528.4 million from government grants. According to its annual report, the organization provided 327,653 abortions nationwide and offered 1,880 adoption referrals in 2013.

NEWARK, N.J. – A Jersey City, New Jersey, man was sentenced today to 120 months in prison for selling 33 firearms to a confidential informant, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

Bernardo Guzman, 26, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Madeline Cox Arleo to an information charging him with one count of possessing firearms while being a previously convicted felon. Judge Arleo imposed the sentence today in Newark federal court.
