CNB Hunting/Fishing Delaware: Georgetown man fined for harvesting deer out-of-season

 

GEORGETOWN (July 2, 2015) – DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers arrested a Georgetown man earlier this week, following an investigation into a report of two white-tailed deer being shot out of season.

William Betts, 25, was charged June 29 with two counts each of hunting white-tailed deer during a closed season, possession of unlawfully taken antlered deer and wanton waste of a game animal. He pled guilty to all six charges in Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Georgetown. Betts was fined $3,442 and had his Delaware hunting privileges revoked for two years.

VIDEO RELEASE: COAST GUARD RESPONDS TO SINKING SAILBOAT OFF ANNAPOLIS, MD.

 

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard responded to a sailboat taking on water Tuesday at the mouth of the South River.

Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders received a report from a crewmember aboard a 44-foot sailboat via VHF-FM channel 16 at approximately 7 p.m. stating the sailboat was taking on water.

A crew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station Annapolis was in the area and diverted to respond.

Once on scene two Coast Guard crewmembers boarded the sailboat, bringing with them a pump to assist in the de-watering efforts.

The remaining Coast Guard members aboard the RBM escorted the sailboat to Selby Bay Yacht Basin, where it is now moored.

No injuries were reported.

Suspect Arrested for Oak Valley NJ Arson

Bret A. Henderson (DOB 6/21/66), of 1 Haggas Ave. in the Oak Valley section of Deptford Township NJ has been arrested on arson and aggravated assault charges stemming from a 6/14/15 fire at his Deptford residence that injured a township firefighter.

Henderson was taken into custody 6/22/15 in Gwinnett County, GA by officers of the U.S. Marshal’s Service. He has waived extradition to New Jersey and is expected to be returned to Gloucester County, where he will be held without bail.
