Andrea Bocelli and Juanes to Perform at Festival of Families in Philadelphia for Pope Francis

Philadelphia, PA (June 23, 2015) – The World Meeting of Families – Philadelphia 2015 today \"World-meeting-of-families-philadelphia-2015-logo\"announced that Andrea Bocelli, the internationally acclaimed Italian tenor with more than 70 million records sold, and Juanes, a multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy winning Colombian superstar, will travel to Philadelphia to perform at the Festival of Families on Saturday, September 26, for Pope Francis.

In addition, one of the world’s most renowned ensembles – The Philadelphia Orchestra – will also perform for the Holy Father at the Festival of Families. Mr. Bocelli, Juanes, and The Philadelphia Orchestra are the first performers to be officially confirmed for the Festival of Families, which will take place on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Additional high profile acts are expected to be added in the next 1-2 months.

Thousands still without power after severe storm rips through N.J., officials say

More than 250,000 power outages were reported in South Jersey following the storm and Atlantic City Electric crews are working safety to restore all power, according to ACE Spokesperson Lindel Jones. Crews were sent out to begin the assessment as soon as possible Tuesday night and worked to assess the damages and begin the restoration of electric.

Enjoy your brownies, donuts and other shrink-wrapped snacks while they last.

That’s right, the federal government is coming for your stash of Hot Pockets, popcorn and Ding-Dongs.

The federal Food and Drug Administration approved new rules last week that will effectively ban trans fats within three years, forever changing the face of snacking and fast food. Specifically, the FDA is going after partially hydrogenated oils, the main ingredient in the trans fats that liter the diets of many Americans.

Food companies have until 2018 to remove the oils from their products.

But does the government have the power to force people to eat healthy?

The FDA is charged, in part, with protecting Americans from food that is unsafe to eat. They inspect meat, for example, to make sure we’re not going to get mad cow disease.
