OBITUARY: Arlene M. Jordan of Paulsboro

 

On June 19, 2015. Age 72. Of Paulsboro. Daughter of the late Harvey and Irma Jordan (nee Adamson). Survived by her cousins, Betty Sorbello, Harry Smith and Jean Smith. 

 Arlene was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s UMC of Paulsboro.

 Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday morning, June 25, 2015 from 9 to 10 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Service 10 AM in the funeral home. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.

OFFICER DOWN: Police Officer Rick Silva, Chehalis Police Department, Washington

\"Police-officer-rick-silva\"Chehalis, WA–Police Officer Rick Silva, who started his police career 27 years \"6a00d8341bf7d953ef01bb07cf3abd970d-120wi\"ago died while undergoing surgery to correct a duty related injury suffer sustained in February 2015 while attempting to arrest a shoplifting suspect.

The offender, who was armed with a knife, resisted arrest. During the ensuing struggle Officer Silva injured his hip in the same location in which he had suffered a previous duty injury. The second injury required him to undergo surgery.

Officer Silva had served with the Chehalis Police Department for 13 years and had previously served with the Lewis County Sheriff\’s Office for 12 years.
