Raises the bar on quality, expands program to full school day, full school year, reduces regulatory burden by one-third

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced today important steps to improve the quality of services at Head Start programs across the country. HHS Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell unveiled the first comprehensive revision of the Head Start Performance Standards since they were originally published in 1975. Improving these performance standards, which provide the foundation for practices and policies in every Head Start program, builds upon past efforts from the administration to improve and strengthen Head Start in order to deliver on the President’s call to provide children with access to high-quality early childhood experiences. The revised standards reflect a vision for how to raise the bar on quality for all Head Start programs and build on the programs’ history of success to help more children onto a path to school success.

According to the report, the puppies were being transported from Ohio to various pet stores in New Jersey. Two of the puppies were killed in the crash, but 77 survived.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie continues to live large as a sports junkie with an expensive habit – especially when he can stick taxpayers, political donors, powerful friends or someone else with the bill.

Last week, Christie scored a spot behind the home bench of the Cleveland Cavaliers during Game 3 of the NBA Finals series with the Golden State Warriors. Similar seats were offered for as much as $22,000 each through secondary markets. Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer sat next to the New Jersey governor.

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP NJ–On 06/16/2015 at approx. 1333hrs, the Winslow Township Police Department were dispatched to Elementary School #5 on Oak Leaf Road for a suspicious person, seen by a student, walking through a wooded area outside of the school. The school administration had immediately placed the school on \”lockout\” mode, as police personnel were responding.

As a precautionary measure, Elementary School #2 on First Ave, was also placed in \”lockout\” due to its close proximity to Elementary School #5.

Winslow Township Police officer\’s, with the assistance of a Pine Hill PD K-9, checked the wooded areas surrounding both schools, however, no one or anything suspicious was located. The safety measures taken were precautionary to ensure the safety of students and faculty. Winslow Township Police remained on scene at both schools until the students safely boarded their buses to go home.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that there was no threat or potential threat to anyone at either school.
