WINSLOW TOWNSHIP NJ–On 06/16/2015 at approx. 1333hrs, the Winslow Township Police Department were dispatched to Elementary School #5 on Oak Leaf Road for a suspicious person, seen by a student, walking through a wooded area outside of the school. The school administration had immediately placed the school on \”lockout\” mode, as police personnel were responding.
As a precautionary measure, Elementary School #2 on First Ave, was also placed in \”lockout\” due to its close proximity to Elementary School #5.
Winslow Township Police officer\’s, with the assistance of a Pine Hill PD K-9, checked the wooded areas surrounding both schools, however, no one or anything suspicious was located. The safety measures taken were precautionary to ensure the safety of students and faculty. Winslow Township Police remained on scene at both schools until the students safely boarded their buses to go home.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that there was no threat or potential threat to anyone at either school.
