NSTB: Amtrak Crash Engineer Was Not Using His Phone

The report was released Wednesday morning ahead of a hearing on Capitol Hill. \”Analysis of the phone records does not indicate that any calls, texts, or data usage occurred during the time the engineer was operating the train. Amtrak\’s records confirm that the engineer did not access the train\’s Wi-Fi system while he was operating the locomotive,\” according to the report from the National Transportation Safety Board. The May 12 derailment and crash killed 8 people and injured more than 200.

\’Headless body in topless bar\’ writer dies, was a Jersey boy

The writer of perhaps the best-known and most-cited headline in journalism has died. Vincent A. Musetto, who notoriously wrote the headline \”Headless Body in Topless Bar\” for the front page of the New York Post on April 15, 1983, died Tuesday, his former paper reported. He had turned 74 in May. Musetto had worked for The Advance in Dover and grew up in Boonton, the New York Times reports. He earned a bachelor\’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Repair crews were still on the scene at 5 PM. Traffic is still being detoured from the area.

Gloucester City NJ June 10, 2015 (CNBNews.net)— For the past several months PSE&G along with Verizon have been adding heavy duty dark black wires to the old utility poles in the Riverview Heights section of Gloucester City. Today, the extra weight on those poles have caused one to break in half on Lane Avenue near the corner of Thompson Ave. Several others (photo above) are now leaning to one side. The wires come in from South Broadway and extend over Kohler Street to Lane Avenue and east onto Thompson Avenue out to the high tension wires by Gloucester City High School.

Presently traffic is being detoured from this area. So far electrical services has not been affected.

 

Police and firefighters are on the scene.
