CNB Hunting/Fishing News Delaware: Three commercial fishermen cited for violations

 

DOVER (May 20, 2015) – DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers cited three commercial fishermen in Kent County for violations last week.

 

  • On May 14, Fish & Wildlife officers cited Joseph Cherneski, 44, of Milford, for failure to tend a commercial gill net within 48 hours in the Delaware Bay near Pickering Beach. Cherneski was fined $107, including court costs.

CNB CRIME: Acquittal for Cleveland Police Officer on Killing Unarmed Couple

 CLEVELAND (CN) – A judge acquitted the police officer Saturday who killed two unarmed, black suspects after vaulting onto the hood of their car and firing 15 shots through the windshield.
With Michael Brelo, 31, having waived his right to a trial by jury, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge John O\’Donnell took two and a half weeks to decide the Cleveland police officer\’s fate.
When O\’Donnell began deliberations at the conclusion of the five-week trial on May 5, he noted that he would likely hand down his verdict after the conclusion of Cleveland Police Week, which ran from May 9 to May 17.

CNB Hunting/Fishing Delaware: Dates Announced for Sussex County Young Duck Hunters Education Program

Division of Fish & Wildlife announces 

SUSSEX COUNTY (May 20, 2015) – Young hunters eager to take up the sport of waterfowling in the fall, take note: the upcoming Sussex County Young Waterfowlers Program is now open for registration, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today.

 \”The Young Waterfowlers Program provides youth ages 12 through 16 with exposure to the complete waterfowl experience,\” said Delaware Hunter Education Coordinator Mark Ostroski. \”Everything including waterfowl identification, biology, blind construction and safety, decoy use, duck calling, camouflage technique, boating safety, bird recovery, laws and regulations, language and tradition, firearms, ammo and equipment will be covered.\”
