MOUNT EPHRAIM NJ (CNBNews.net)–A unity slate has been forged from two rival tickets for control of the three-member Mount Ephraim Board of Commissioners in the May 12 non-partisan election, Mayor Joseph Wolk announced.

\”We are all on the same page in terms of seeking office for the express purpose of making our town as good as it can be,\” Wolk said. \”It is a commitment we have always shared and we agreed that a contentious election campaign would do more harm than good in our wonderful, close-knit community.\”

The Teamwork Improving Mount Ephraim (T.I.M.E) slate has added Michael \”Traz’ Tovinsky, a 50-year resident who is past president of Mount Ephraim Little League, former executive board member of Local 14, Insulators Union, and a newcomer to elective office. He replaces incumbent Bruce Greenwald.

 In his formal letter of resignation, Greenwald thanked borough residents and his colleagues and municipal employees for their support during his tenure. He said he does not now have the time and energy to continue handling the responsibilities associated with the position of commissioner. He said he hopes to have the time and energy to seek elective office again in the future. 

In addition to Greenwald, George A. Gies and Thomas R. Maxwell formally resigned their candidacies before Borough Clerk Terry Shannon on Wednesday. \”We plan to take full advantage of their skills, interests and passion for a better Mount Ephraim in the near future,\” Wolk said. 

Both Gies and Maxwell have a history of community service, particularly youth sports programs, one of the key features of a small borough that prides itself on being a safe and clean environment for raising a family. 

Wolk , Gilmore and Tovinsky encourage all residents to join them on May 12 to keep Mt. Ephraim moving in the right direction.
