CNB CRIME: Indictment Charges Two with Using Phony Concert Promotions to Scam Investors

PHILADELPHIA—Marc Hubbard, 46, of Cornelius, North Carolina, and Franklin Green, 45, of Washington, DC, were charged by indictment, unsealed today, in a conspiracy to defraud victims who thought they were investing in concert promotions. The defendants are each charged with one count of conspiracy and seven counts of wire fraud, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The fraud scheme involved approximately $2 million.

Hubbard was president of Sports Dimensions, Inc. (\”SDI\”) which purported to specialize in concert promotions and nightclub management, and was also president of Castle Entertainment which purported to specialize in nightclub management. Green, a lawyer in Washington, DC, was formerly a lawyer in Philadelphia, PA.

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been charged by the Army with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy according to Col. Daniel King, a spokesman for the Army Forces Command. Bergdahl, who spent five years as a captive under the Taliban before he was freed in a May 31 prisoner swap, will face an Article 32 preliminary hearing, said King. Essex County Men Sentenced to Prison for Smuggling Pot and Cell Phones Into Jail

TRENTON, NJ—Two Newark, New Jersey, men were each sentenced prison terms today for their involvement in a scheme to smuggle contraband, including marijuana and cell phones, into the Essex County Correctional Facility, a federal pretrial detention facility, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

Darsell Davis, 29, and Dwayne Harper, 31, were sentenced to 15 months and 12 months in prison, respectively. Davis previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Mary L. Cooper to an information charging him with one count of conspiring with others to commit extortion under color of official right. Harper previously pleaded guilty before Judge Cooper to an information charging him with one count of conspiring to smuggle contraband into the Essex County Correctional Facility. Judge Cooper imposed both sentences today in Trenton federal court.

Winslow Township Narcotic Detectives Arrest Suspect for Distribution of Oxycodone Pills

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP NJ March 24, 2015– Winslow Twp. Narcotic Detectives conducted an investigation in the Sicklerville section of Winslow Township on March 24 and arrested Darrell Murray for possession and distribution of Oxycodone pills.

The investigation led detectives to Murray’s residence in Chesilhurst and the following items were recovered: M.A.C. 11 assault weapon, semi-automatic handgun, 375 Oxycodone pills, marijuana, CDS paraphernalia.
