NEW WEBSITE OFFERS WEALTH OF INFORMATION ON STEPS THE PUBLIC CAN TAKE TO IMPROVE AIR QUALITY 

(15/P19) TRENTON – As part of its commitment to improving air quality in New Jersey, the Department of Environmental Protection has launched CleanAirNJ, a campaign that is designed to educate state residents on steps they can take in their own lives to reduce air pollution for a healthier environment.

\”The Christie Administration has implemented broad policies and initiatives to improve the air we breathe, from battling air pollution that blows in from other states to fostering the growth of the renewable energy portfolio in our state,\” said DEP Commissioner Bob Martin. \”This new campaign will provide residents with individual and practical ways to make a difference.\”

As I’ve watched news reports of wild winter weather across the country, I’ve been truly impressed by the resourcefulness and creativity inspired by the snow: amateur MacGyvers have engineered everything from homemade roof clearing devices to custom-designed sleds. But, in my humble opinion, this motorized combination snow plow/toilet created by a Maryland man during the President’s Day snowstorm might just take the cake.

Hudson County, New Jersey – Today, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and CarePoint Health CEO, Dennis Kelly announced that CarePoint Health is now able to offer care to local area veterans, uniformed service members and their families through an innovative program that allows private sector providers to supplement traditional veterans and military benefits. \”Providing access to quality healthcare in the communities where they live is a step in the right direction towards improving services for veterans, current members of the armed forces and their families,\” said Mayor Fulop, an Iraq war veteran whose administration made ending veteran homelessness in Jersey City a priority. \”With this program, CarePoint will be making a huge impact in the lives of thousands of veterans and military families who have selflessly put our nation ahead of their own lives and well-being. I am honored to join CarePoint in launching this program here in Hudson County.\”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Michael Puglisse, 68, of Harrisburg, was sentenced today for conspiracy to engage in illegal gambling. U.S. District Court Judge William W. Caldwell sentenced Puglisse to one year probation and ordered him to pay a fine of $4,000.

This is the second year in a row the Senator has topped many of the GovTrack Report Card categories. Plus, he was listed as the most productive member of the 113^thCongress in Time magazine.
