The largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) is a species of fish in the sunfish family. Although the program\’s three divisions remain the same (Adult, Junior and Catch and Release), now there are several new categories creating more opportunities for qualifying fish to earn the angler a series of personalized certificates suitable for framing to commemorate your outstanding catch!

Reminder for the week: Anglers need fishing license, trout stamp, FIN number for trout season
DOVER (Feb. 20, 2015) – To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Natural Resources Police officers between Feb. 9-15 made 670 contacts with anglers, hunters, boaters and the general public, including 10 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks. Agents responded to 27 complaints and issued 14 citations, two of which were related to the C&D Canal Conservation Area and associated recreational trail, where there is an increased Fish & Wildlife Enforcement presence.

A judge in Washington state ruled this week that a 70-year-old florist who declined to make flower arrangements for a gay couple’s wedding violated the state’s anti-discrimination and consumer protection laws.
In a phone interview with The Daily Signal, Barronelle Stutzman said the decision—and its accompanying fines—will put her flower shop out of business, or worse.
After the fines and legal fees, \”There won’t be anything left,\” Stutzman said.
\”They want my home, they want my business, they want my personal finances as an example for other people to be quiet.\”
Stutzman owns Arlene’s Flowers, which is a small flower shop in Richland, Wash. She has been in the industry for over 40 years, for the most part serving customers regardless of their sexual orientation.
But in March 2013, when Robert Ingersoll asked Stutzman to design floral arrangements for his same-sex wedding to Curt Freed, she declined, citing her Christian faith.

Alert! The Government Accountability Office – the non-partisan watchdog arm of Congress – has released its \”High Risk\” report. The report comes out every other year (at the beginning of each new Congress) and is meant to serve as a menu for policymaker oversight. An area is considered \”high risk\” because of \”greater vulnerabilities to fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement or the
need for transformation to address economy, efficiency, or effectiveness challenges.\”
The GAO concentrates on high-level issues that are particularly problematic and then track the issues over time. So while it has 32 areas of concentration, only two are new to the 2015 report (\”Managing Risks and Improving Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care\” and \”Improving the Management of Information Technology (IT) Acquisitions and Operations\”). They note \”Solid, steady progress has been made in the majority of the high-risk areas.\” But we’ll note, none of the areas listed in the 2013 report are gone.

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ–The soffit above the first floor outside hallway of the Quality Inn, Route 130 and Market Street, fell down earlier today (Sunday).
It is not known at this time what caused the soffit to fall. Nor do we know if anyone was injured.
