City of San Francisco and Nude Protestors Will Battle in Court

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) – A federal judge handed Christmas gifts to both nudists and San Francisco officials on Wednesday, whittling down the 2-year battle over the city\’s ban on sidewalk nudity to two instances in which police targeted protesters at City Hall, and dismissing the rest of the suit.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted in November 2012 to prohibit \”genital exposure\” on all city sidewalks, plazas, parklets, streets and public transport, except during permitted activities such as the Pride Parade, Folsom Street Fair and Bay to Breakers race.
Nudists struck back by
filing a federal class action to prevent the ordinance from taking effect, claiming that nudity is an integral part of their personal and political expression and protected by the First Amendment.

FROM BIG GEEK DADDY–If you were a kid in the 50’s,60’s,70’s or early 80’s this is a salute to you from radio station 107.9 WSRZ in Sarasota, Florida. I grew up in the 70’s and early 80’s and have fond memories of many things that today would be considered unsafe for kids. The high dive at the local YMCA pool is just one example not to mention jumping the Big Wheel and my bike off make shift ramps without a helmet. Congratulations to all those who survived!

POWERFUL VIDEO: Jonathan Gentry on Ferguson Rioting and Michael Brown

Jonathan Gentry\’s video appeared on Facebook in August after riots broke out in Ferguson, MI, following the shooting of Michael Brown. Gentry, who is a minister criticized the black community for their actions. His words are more relevant than ever now that Ferguson and other cities have once again erupted into violence.

\”This is not helping,\” Gentry exclaimed. \”Change isn’t going to come until we change it. All we know how to do is march and riot and loot. This is not helping. What you are out here doing is not helping.\”

\”I’m going to tell you what you need to hear, opposing to what you want to hear. All we know to do is blame the police and white folks for our actions. That’s all we know how to do, blame white folks. They beating on us. Oh, slavery still exists. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of it.\”
