WASHINGTON, Nov. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — More than 46 million turkeys will be cooked this Thanksgiving holiday, according to the National Turkey Federation, but many families aren\’t taking the specific actions needed to reduce their risk of foodborne illness. In an effort to help protect Americans from foodborne illness during the Thanksgiving season and throughout the year, the Ad Council is partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)\’s Food Safety and Inspection Service to launch new public service advertisements (PSAs) on behalf of their national Food Safe Families campaign.

TRENTON – Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman and the Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor (OIFP) announced that a Perth Amboy man indicted last week in a half-million dollar disability insurance scam was charged again today by a state grand jury, this time for allegedly partnering with his girlfriend in a complex scheme to steal approximately $23,000 from a credit union and to defraud a car insurance company of more than $32,000 by forging documents related to a stolen SUV.

Logan F. Holt Jr., 55, of Galloway Township, was sentenced to five years in state prison, including two years of parole ineligibility, by Superior Court Judge Mark H. Sandson in Atlantic County. Holt pleaded guilty on Aug. 7 to a second-degree charge of official misconduct. He is permanently barred from public employment in New Jersey.

DEP’S ENDANGERED AND NONGAME SPECIES PROGRAM PLAYING KEY ROLE
IN RESEARCH ON \”NEW\” FROG SPECIES
TRENTON – For Division of Fish and Wildlife Endangered and Nongame Species Program zoologist Brian Zarate, having a hand in helping to \”discover\” a new frog species in a state as populated and urbanized as New Jersey is both a \”very cool\” and \”humbling\” experience.
Zarate and the DEP’s Endangered and Nongame Species Program are currently participating in an ongoing effort to map the potential range of the Atlantic Coast leopard frog, a newly identified species being found in places as diverse as New Jersey’s Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, the Meadowlands, marshlands along the Delaware River and Delaware Bay, Cape May Point State Park, and along stretches of the state’s coastline.

The night before often is spent tossing and turning, minds racing excitedly at the possibilities that lie in store.
The morning begins early, with the coffee pot and breakfast griddle heating up well before the mercury in the thermometer.
Parents and children choose their attire based on the conditions that prevail outside, always ending up looking alike, right down to the orange hats and vests.
And maybe, with just a little luck, one of the monster bucks that dashed through the hunter’s imagination the previous night will appear in all its majesty soon after first light.
