New York taxpayers are footing the bill for a massive $750-million SolarCity manufacturing plant with a promise that the company will spend $5 billion there on product and development, but when a local TV station tried to find out contract details, they were told it was confidential.

Buffalo, N.Y., station WIVB-4 received the contract through a Freedom of Information request, but most of the pages were blacked out. The resulting document looks like something reporters would receive from the CIA.

NEWARK, NJ – Turning to a faith leader to help address substance abuse addiction in a loved one is often the first step for a family, and the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) is coordinating a free training to provide resources and information to those Faith Based leaders.

The Faith Based Do No Harm Symposium will be held on December 4, 2014 at the Newark Museum 49 Washington St, Newark, NJ 07102. There is no cost to register or attend. This symposium is sponsored by PDFNJ and the Drug-Enforcement Administration-New Jersey Division.

FIRESTORM: Local business owner Sally Sprenger could lose some of her clients after a college instructor apparently threatened her for displaying campaign signs for a Republican senator at her company’s headquarters.

WAUWATOSA, Wis. — A business owner who helped promote a Republican state senator says a nursing instructor with union ties wrote a letter threatening her company with financial harm.

In the letter, the signatory, Allison Nicol, says she has stopped advising prospective students to receive training through Quality Healthcare Options Inc.

Nichol, who works at the Mequon campus of Milwaukee Area Technical College, doesn’t agree with company owner Sally Sprenger backing state Sen. Leah Vukmir, R-Wauwatosa, the letter says.

Rangel: I Called Tea Party \’Crackers\’ As Term Of Endearment | The Daily Caller

New York Democratic Congressman Charlie Rangel sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Huffington Post Live, during which he defended his earlier use of the term ‘white crackers’ as a \”term of endearment.\”

Rangel began by standing by his earlier comments that the Southern GOP believes that \”slavery isn’t over,\” and that they won the Civil War. \”Take a look and see, what are the symbols that the majority of slave-holding states, if they identify with the tea party, and if they do, where are the warriors of the Civil War, the Confederates?\” he said, \”They’re all over these states and even today are denying it!\” (RELATED: Rangel: Southern GOP Still Believes In Slavery, ‘Racial Superiority’)

But host Marc Lamont Hill then pushed Rangel on comments he made in 2013, calling the Tea Party \”white crackers.\” \”I thought that was a term of endearment,\” he explained.

Even Hill laughed out loud at that. \”You thought ‘cracker’ was a term of endearment?\”

Rangel then preceded to give perhaps the most backhanded apology of all time: \”They’re so proud of their heritage and all the things they believe in. I can tell you this: with all of the feelings I have against the people, that have been against justice, fair play and equality, and the freedoms as we know it. If I offended them for calling them a ‘white cracker,’ I apologize.
