CRIME REPORT

September 30th. – October 12th.

September 30th. (3:00 pm) Detectives responded to the Camden County Jail to interview Wayne Orsini concerning his arrest and incarceration earlier on this date, due to the fact a dirt bike he had in his possession at the time was later identified as stolen from a residence on Baynes Avenue. During the interview, Mr. Orsini confessed to stealing the dirt bike, as well as stealing a bicycle from a residence on S. Sussex Street on September 12th. Mr. Orsini also confessed to stealing a bicycle from the front of a business in the 100 block of S. Broadway on September 20th. as well as burglarizing a residence in the 800 block of Monmouth Street on September 21st. and stealing a bicycle. Mr. Orsini was charged with all of these crimes and bail was set at $25,000.

In the final weeks before this year\’s elections, a super PAC called Key Questions, Key Answers
started buying TV ads across Pennsylvania attacking Tom Wolf, the Democratic candidate for governor.

\”Don\’t vote for a wolf in sheep\’s clothing,\” the narrator says in one of the ads as a sheep with Wolf\’s face bleats the word \”taxes.\”

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife will be hosting a free 2-day Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs (HOFNOD) training for adult staff and volunteers of youth-centered community and/or faith-based organizations looking to offer an ongoing or year-round youth fishing, conservation and aquatic education program. HOFNOD is a great way to introduce youth to fishing, learning about their local water and other natural resources while supporting positive outdoor recreation activities and life skills. The program is flexible enough to be tailored to fit most organizations.

CNB Hunting/Fishing News for Pa: Fall Turkey Season Opened

Fall season began Nov. 1 in most parts of state; season lengths vary by WMU.

 

One of Pennsylvania’s most exciting seasons will begin this Saturday as hunters head afield in pursuit of one of fall’s most coveted game animals, the wild turkey. But hunters really need to focus on the varying season starts and lengths throughout the state’s 23 Wildlife Management Units (WMUs). Hunter compliance protects the resource and ensures better turkey hunting in coming years.
While season lengths in most WMUs remain unchanged from last year, the first season segment has been shortened from three weeks to two in WMUs 3A, 3B and 3C – all of which are in northern Pennsylvania – to help those populations rebound from declining trends. And while a three-day season remains intact in WMU 5A, the timing of the season has changed to a Thursday-through-Saturday format to provide greater opportunity for hunters whose schedules do not allow for a weekday hunt. 
Hunters who didn’t participate in the fall turkey season last year still might be unaware of season length changes put in place in 2013 in some WMUs, due to an ongoing study to determine how the length of the fall season affects the female turkey harvest.
