IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?
The Borowitz Report took a shot at Chris Christie and his mandatory quarantine protocols yesterday in a bit of satire titled, \”Chris Christie Sworn in as Doctor.\” In a companion piece, Borowitz also took a swipe at general public hysteria. But Christie scored a powerful ally when his quarantine protocols received a vote of support from an actual doctor – and a Nobel Price-winning doctor at that. Dr. Bruce Beutler says he favors Christie\’s quarantine protocol, and would support something even a bit stricter. Meanwhile, The New York Times\’ Mike Barbaro has one of the best commentaries on the quarantine quagmire, saying that \”Ebola has captured all that is refreshing and infuriating\”about the governor.

STUDENT JOURNALISTS HIGHLIGHT PRESS CENSORSHIP AT NJ SCHOOLS
About 775 students from 53 NJ schools attended a \”Press Rights, No Fear\” event yesterday, where the decision to pull an article from the Northern Highlands Regional High School newspaper was held up as an cautionary example of press censorship in schools across the state.

WOODBURY NJ–Richard A. Costanzo (DOB 7/5/72) of Clayton NJ, Supervisor of Transportation for Kingsway Regional High School in Woolwich Twp. NJ, was arrested Monday (10/27) on a charge of stealing funds from a state association of school transportation supervisors, of which he was secretary.

Gavin Seim, \”liberty speaker\” and former Republican candidate for Congress, pulled over a cop in his home state of Washington on Oct. 11 to draw attention to unlawful traffic stops by police impersonators. This citizen’s arrest, captured on tape, was made because the officer was driving an unmarked car, which is illegal.

The officer, when asked, said the car was a patrol car. This was a violation of Washington law, where cops can drive unmarked vehicles for undercover work but not for regular patrol work. Over the course of the video, Seim went through the typical steps an officer would have gone through—he asked for name, license, and then went into a lengthy explanation of the law, before letting the officer go with a warning.

(TRENTON) – The Senate Transportation Committee has advanced legislation by Senator Donald Norcross (D-Camden/Gloucester) that creates special motorcycle license plates for veterans.
 
\”Veteran motorcyclists should be able to proudly display the fact that they have served our country with honor,\” said Senator Norcross. \”Veterans are a significant population of the motorcycle community in our state, and many have approached me about this issue. I am honored to stand with them in securing these plates.\”
