In 2014, the Challenge grew so much that the CCCF not only moved the New York City run to a new venue, but added a second Colon Cancer Challenge at Manhattanville College. By bringing the Challenge to The Rock, CCCF is expanding the reach of New York\’s largest colorectal cancer awareness event, and will give even more people a chance to participate and raise money for colorectal cancer research, education and screening.

Special waterfowl, deer and turkey hunting days 
for youth, disabled hunters announced

Youth hunting day for waterfowl set for Oct. 4

DOVER (Oct. 3, 2013) – To promote and provide additional hunting opportunities, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife has designated four Saturdays as special waterfowl, deer, and turkey hunting days for youth hunters ages 10 to 15 on both public and private lands statewide. Non-ambulatory disabled hunters can also take advantage of these additional hunting opportunities on the deer and turkey dates, but not waterfowl, per federal requirements.

PHILADELPHIA- Two members of the Ironworkers Local 401 pleaded guilty today to their roles in incidents that caused destruction to construction sites. Daniel Hennigar, 54, of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty to maliciously damaging property by means of fire. James Zinn, 28, of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit extortion which interferes with interstate commerce. U.S. District Court Judge Michael Baylson scheduled a sentencing hearing for Hennigar for January 28, 2015 and January 21, 2015, for Zinn.

On December 20, 2012, Hennigar drove two other ironworkers, James Walsh and William Gillin, to the Quaker Meetinghouse under construction. Walsh and Gillin used an acetylene torch and gasoline to cause significant damage to the construction site in retaliation for the contractor’s failure to hire union ironworkers.
