UPDATED
SALEM — Marc Seibert carries all of those invisible intangibles that only coaches can see.
The Gloucester High senior quarterback isn’t going to overwhelm anyone with his size (he\’s generously listed on the roster at 5-9, 170 pounds) or blow anyone away with his speed or throwing arm.
All Seibert does is lead and win. And that’s just fine with Lions’ coach Ed Malone, who saw his team improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the West Jersey Football League-Classic Division with a 24-20 victory over Salem (1-2, 1-1) on Saturday afternoon under a blazing sun.
Seibert had a career game, rushing for 100 yards on just seven carries, the bulk of which came on 58- and 38-yard touchdown runs. Seibert was also an efficient 6-for-7 passing for 71 yards, which included a 9-yard touchdown pass to Justin Graves that gave the Lions an 18-14 edge.
