Clementon NJ man pleads to sex with girl, age 14

Hector M. Cruz (DOB 10/5/89), of Gibbsboro Rd, Clementon pleaded guilty today (9/27) to sexual assault against the 14 year-old daughter of a former Glassboro girlfriend in July 2012.

\”I had sex with her,\” Cruz said when questioned by his attorney before Superior Court Judge Kevin Smith. \”I didn’t know her age.\” However, Cruz acknowledged to Judge Smith that he didn’t dispute the girl was 14 at the time. Specifically, Cruz said the act was vaginal intercourse.

Under terms of a plea agreement, Senior Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Audrey Curwin will recommend Cruz be sentenced to six years in New Jersey state prison on the second-degree crime. A sentencing date was deferred until after Cruz is evaluated at the New Jersey Adult Diagnostic Center, a facility for sex offenders in Avenel NJ. He has been in jail since 7/24/12 in default of $100,000 bail.

SOUND OFF: That Criminal Element is Already Living in Gloucester City! /cnbnews.net

I had to smile when I read the Gloucester City News artilce on the front page. \"Images\"\”Gloucester City Planning Board nixes bail bond office.\” Mr. Jeffrey Baron, [office in Voorhees NJ] representing the city business association stated the presence of a bail bonds office would bring a criminal element along with their families into the city.

I would like to inform Mr. Baron that the criminal element and their families, live, breath and rent in our fair city. The criminal element and their family visit all the lawyers in Gloucester City. The criminal element and families are at city hall on Monmouth Street every Tuesday.

Should we lock down the city on court day?

All I see in this town are empty store fronts.

This man wants to establish a legitimate business in our town that would produce rateables, which puts money in the city coffer. It also seems like he is trying to create a job or two for the city.

Well Mr. Baron, Esquire, your worried about the criminal element and their families, well forget about it, that horse left the barn a long time ago.

P.S MY RESERVATION FOR OTT’S RESTAURANT ON THE WATERFRONT IS STILL ON HOLD!!!!

 Sincerely

ROBERT J. HAGAN, JR. Resident of Gloucester City.
