Bishop Dennis J. Sullivan will celebrate the 12^th Annual Diocesan Blue Mass on Tuesday, September 24 at10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Agnes Church in Blackwood.

Traditionally the Blue Mass honors the dedication and service of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency responders who live and work in the Camden Diocese which includes Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Gloucester, Cumberland and Salem counties.

Law enforcement officers of all faiths who serve at municipal, county, state, and federal levels, along with their families, are welcome to attend the Mass.

Recognized by the Healey Education Foundation for Advancement Successes

PHILADELPHIA PA–Saint Katherine of Siena School in Philadelphia was awarded a $20,000 grant by the Healy Education Foundation at the Celebration of Achievement event earlier this month.

 

The foundation’s School Advancement Grants for Excellence (SAGE) recognize outstanding work in implementing the foundation’s Catholic School Development Program (CSDP) Methodology to achieve sustainable growth. Saint Katherine of Siena was selected from among 17 schools that submitted proposals on how the award would be used to significantly strengthen advancement efforts.

  

Suddenly, on September 21, 2013. Age 27. Of Gloucester City. Cherished daughter of Robert S. Davis and MaryAnn Davis (nee Parker) and her husband Daniel Queen. Loving sister of Kyle R. Davis. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. 

 

Born on January 22, 1986, Amanda had a passion for music and the voice of an angel and was the #1 Phillies fan. 

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Thursday evening, September 26, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Catholic Funeral Service will begin at 7 PM in the funeral home. Inurment in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr will be private.

Parents everywhere know that relenting to a temper tantrum just encourages bad behavior. With the government starting a new fiscal year October 1 and set to reach the debt ceiling shortly thereafter, the theatrics are in full display. Stomping their feet and holding their breath, policymakers are making all kinds of demands. But even if Congress manages to keep the government’s lights on and avoids having America’s checks bounce, we shouldn’t clap. By refusing to make any tough decisions to seriously rein in deficits they’ve put the country on a dangerous path towards another fiscal crisis.
