Obit: Helen G. Willard, of Gloucester City, age 94

 

On September 13, 2013. (nee Fish) Age 94. Of Gloucester City. Loving wife of 49 years to the late Franklin C. Willard. Cherished mother of Raymond Willard (Neimy) of West Collingswood Heights, Marie Murphy (Michael) of Gloucester City and the late Patricia Sterner (surviving Edward) of Brooklawn. Beloved grandmother of Kristen MacKannan, Nicole Shapley , Michael Sterner and Ken Manubay. Adored great-grandmother of Alli, Katelyn, Jacob, Kamryn, Samantha, Estella, Eric and Eleanor. Beloved great-great grandmother of Evan.Dear Sister of Alice Lick of Haddon Township and the late Raymond Fish (surviving Margaret), late James Fish and the late Mary McCarty. 

 

Helen was born in Camden and has been a resident of Gloucester City since 1921. Helen has been a devoted and faithful parishioner of Saint Mary’s R.C. Church in Gloucester City for her entire life. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her viewing on Monday from 6 pm to 8 pm and Tuesday from 9 am to 10 am at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am in Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Interment with her late husband in New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. Family prefers in lieu of flowers memorial donations to Msgr. Lucitt’s Needy Children’s Christmas Fund: P.O. Box 87, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Please write in memo: Helen G. Willard.

Bernice Ott (nee Wachter), affectionately known as Nanny, age 79, of Bellmawr, went home on September 11, 2013 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Nan leaves us with the most amazing memories.Predeceased by son Gary, she is the adored and cherished mother of Kenny Ott (Wendy), Sherrie Wood (Gary), Barbra Iannotti (Roger), Kathleen Bradian (Peter) and Robbie Ott (Lisa). She is the loving Nan of 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind 2 brothers Jim Wachter (Jane) and Jack Wachter, who was the most dedicated caregiver and made the best cup of coffee, as well as her best friend and furry companion Gizmo.

Bernice worked for the Superintendent of Elections in Camden and retired after 27 years of service. She was also active with the Bellmawr Seniors Club and a member of St. Joachim’s Parish. There wasn’t a beach she didn’t like.

There will be a viewing from 8 to 9:45am Saturday morning at St. Joachim’s Parish, Annunciation BVM Church, 601 W. Browning Rd., Bellmawr, NJ 08031.

Funeral Mass 10am in church.

Interment private.

Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Bernice’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or to St. Jude Children’s Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

In support of Child Passenger Safety Week, September 15th to 22nd 2013, the Gloucester Township Police Department and Safe Kids Southern New Jersey will be conducting a car seat checkup event on Saturday September 14th. This event is hosted by the Gloucester Township Target at 487 Cross Keys Road, Sicklerville. It is being held between 12 pm and 3 pm and is free. No advance sign up is required.

Suddenly on September 7, 2013 of Gloucester City, NJ. Age 55 yrs. Beloved fiancé of Connie Jeffries. Loving father of John P. Jr., Michael, Anthony, Jessica and Cody, and grandfather of Elizabeth. Cherished son of Josephine Nagle and the late Robert A. Bosco. Dear brother of Jo-Anne Elaine Gerard, Pamela Pearl Applegate, Edward Bosco, and the later Robert Joseph Bosco. Relatives and friends are invited to meet Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the ETHERINGTON-CRERAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 POWELL ST., GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to assist with expenses.
