Despite having been one of the top issues affecting New Jerseyans for several decades, attempts by New Jersey’s leaders to relieve the burden of property taxes have done little to change the fact that property taxes remain the most regressive taxes in New Jersey – in other words, they have the largest negative impact on those with the least resources.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 7 to 8pm Tuesday evening at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Service 10am Wednesday morning at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 315 Highland Terrace, Pitman.

Interment Bethel Cemetery, Hurffville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marjorie’s name to Kennedy Health Care Center Activities Department, 535 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.

CAMDEN, NJ—A former Pennsville, New Jersey Police officer was sentenced today to 15 months in prison for obstructing the FBI’s investigation of his alleged possession of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

Robert Waterman, 32, of Wrightstown, New Jersey, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Robert B. Kugler to an indictment charging him with one count of obstruction of a federal investigation in connection with his destruction of a computer hard drive.

WHAT: Representatives from NJ Hopeline, the state’s new suicide prevention hotline operated by Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), will host a candlelight ceremony in support of World Suicide Prevention Day to promote awareness, remember loved ones and stand with survivors of suicide.

 Late in the race at Richmond on Saturday, Clint Bowyer inexplicably spun out on his own as his teammate, Martin Truex Jr, was running out of time to make the Chase. The spin and sandbagging by Bowyer and other teammate Brian Vickers managed to take Ryan Newman out of the Chase by costing him a win and knocked Jeff Gordon out of the top ten, putting Joey Logano in, and giving teammate Truex Jr the final Wild Card spot.

CHICAGO (CN) – A jury must hear claims from a woman who faced eviction from her condominium because she keeps cats to cope with emotional anxiety, a federal judge ruled.
In 2008, Condominiums of Edelweiss discovered that Barbara Myers kept cats in her unit, in violation of its no-pet policy. She had kept at least one cat in her Palos Park, Ill., apartment for 11 years without any complaints, but Condominiums demanded their immediate removal and threatened Myers with eviction.
Myers responded with a letter from her doctor stating that she needed the cats to help with her various mental and emotional illnesses, making it medically necessary under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Condominiums then tried to evict Myers in state court, but a judge ruled after a 2010 bench trial that Myers\’ need for the cat outweighed any harm Condominiums suffered.
