Boyertown loss sets up showdown with Twin Valley

That means the Bears (36-13-2) will play rival Twin Valley at 3:30 p.m. today at Campbell’s Field in Camden, N.J. The winner will advance to Sunday’s action; the loser is done for the year.
 
In other action today, West Seneca (N.Y.) plays South Charleston (W.V.) in an elimination game at noon. Brooklawn plays Stahl (Del.) at 7 p.m. in the winners bracket final.
 
The Mid-Atlantic champion qualifies for the American Legion World Series in Shelby, N.C.
Twin Valley lost its opener Thursday, but rebounded with a dominating 12-2 victory against Gibbsboro, N.J., in an elimination game.
 
The Boyertown-Brooklawn game – the last contest of the day – didn’t start until 9:37 p.m. It was originally scheduled for 7, but the afternoon games were delayed due to weather.

A Canadian female libertarian wrote a lot of letters to the Canadian government, complaining about the treatment of captive insurgents (terrorists) being held in Afghanistan National Correctional System facilities. She demanded a response to her letter. She received back the following reply:

AMERICAN HEROES: Afghan War Entering the Final Chapter, Obama Tells Marines

WASHINGTON, Aug. 9, 2013 – The commander in chief told Marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif., today that the war in Afghanistan has entered its final chapter.

President Barack Obama thanked the Marines and their families for the burdens they have carried since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
