Philadelphia: Brandon Cavanaugh Arrested for Shooting in West Oak Lane

 

The Philadelphia Police Department would like to extend it gratitude to the media and the public for their assistance in the arrest of Brandon Cavanaugh who has been identified as the shooting suspect in West Oak Lane.

On March 19, 2013, at 10:34pm, an unknown male approached the Chinese Food store located at 6600 North 18th Street armed with a handgun.

The suspect then walks up to the front door and fires a shot into the store at the victims. One of the victims struggles to keep the suspect out of the store by holding the door closed.

The suspect then reaches around the door and fires several shots into the store and into a group of people. After several failed attempts to get at the victims inside the store, the suspect backs up and fires several shots through the glass door striking the victims inside the store. The suspect then turned and fled the area north on 18th Street from 66th Avenue. All three victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

After a long and intensive investigation and releasing surveillance video to the media, detectives received numerous phone tips identifying Cavanaugh as the suspect. Cavanaugh was arrested on June 17, 2013, with further incident.

Dorothy N. O\’Briant, of Villas, formerly of Gloucester City, age 72

O\’BRIANT, DOROTHY N., age 72, of Villas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at her home. Born in Camden, NJ and formerly of Gloucester City, NJ; she has been a Cape May area resident for 6 years.

Dorothy was a graduate of Haddon Heights High School. She was a manager/supervisor at Telenex in Moorestown, NJ retiring in 2001. Dorothy was a member of the United Trinity Methodist Church in Gloucester City. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and word find games.

Dorothy is survived by her son William (Betsy) OBriant of Pittsgrove; her son Curtis (Betty) OBriant of Villas; five grandchildren: Joshua, Abigail, Alycia, Kyle, & Tyler; and one great granddaughter Kaydence. Also surviving are her brothers: James Sweigart & Charles Sweigart; and her sister Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her husband William A OBriant and her brother Daniel Sweigart. Mongols Take on U.S. in Trademark Case

\"\" LOS ANGELES (CN) – The Mongols motorcycle gang, or club, sued Uncle Sam, claiming the federal government cannot seize its trademarks, because RICO law permits such seizures only against people.
The Mongols Nation Motorcycle Club sued Attorney General Eric Holder, in Federal Court. The Mongols claim they are not a criminal organization and cannot be held responsible for a few of its members\’ actions. And they claim that a federal court already has ruled that the government cannot use RICO law to seize an organization\’s trademarks, as Holder is trying to do.
