GLOUCESTER CITY NJ–As part of the Direct Connection Project the New Jersey Department of Transportation (DOT) recently began installing specialized computer equipment at a number of intersections on Route 130 and Route 68, Camden County, that will help with traffic flow during construction. The computerize units, named the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), will adjust the time on traffic lights depending upon traffic congestion.
Recently workers were installing the ITS at the Market Street and Route 130 intersection in Gloucester City. The systems will be fully operational by the fall, weather permitting.
