Citing Recent Old Bridge School Bus Crashes, Thompson Says Measure Would Offer Increased Child Safety

Senator Sam Thompson (R-12) said that recent school bus accidents in Old Bridge, including a crash in which several children were injured, has prompted his introduction of legislation to make school buses safer. The bill, which is being drafted for introduction, would require all new school buses to include three-point lap and shoulder seat belts.

HARRISBURG – A bald eagle found dead earlier this month in northwestern Pennsylvania is believed to have died from a bullet wound, the Pennsylvania Game Commission announced Thursday.

The investigation into the death of a mature eagle found dead May 5 in Clay Township, Butler County, is the second the Game Commission has announced this week.

CAMDEN, N.J. The Camden Riversharks announced that they have signed former Philadelphia Phillies infielder Wilson Valdez.

Valdez was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Montreal Expos in 1997 and was signed by the Florida Marlins in 2002. He went on to play for the Seattle Mariners, the San Diego Padres, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets organizations before joining the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009.
