South Carolina House Makes Implementing Obamacare a Crime

May 3,2013

By DAN MCCUE /COURTHOUSE NEWS

\"\" (CN) – South Carolina lawmakers passed a bill criminalizing implementation of President Barack Obama\’s health care reform law, which the U.S. Supreme Court upheld last year.
The bill, which the state House approved Wednesday by a vote of 65-39, declares the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act \”null and void.\” If passed by the state Senate and signed by Gov. Nikki Haley, the law will be called the Freedom of Health Care Protection Act.
Supporters of the bill say that the U.S. Supreme Court erred in upholding a key provision of the health care law that imposes penalties on eligible citizens who choose not to purchase health insurance.

BELLMAWR NJ–A yearly tradition going back to since when I was a kid, Bellmawr\’s St Joachim (Annunciation) Parish carnival starts Monday May 6th, and continues through Saturday May 11th.

The carnival is located directly on the parish grounds, 601 West Browning Road in Bellmawr, NJ.

Tuesday and Wednesday are listed as Family nights.

Following the \”If it works, why mess with it?\” philosophy, this year\’s carnival again features exciting rides, games, delicious food and snacks… and the legendary Bellmawr beer garden! Friday and Saturday night brings back area cover band, Stage 3. More than just musicians, they are true entertainers and really put on a great show.

I stopped over on Sunday afternoon and took a few pics of the set-up.

From the Parish Website:
Please join us from May 6th through May 11th for our Annual Parish Carnival! Wrist bands are currently on sale at the Rectory Monday through Friday and after each mass on Sunday for $35. Beginning Monday the 6th, they will be $40, so get them now!

Also, we\’re looking for sponsors for our various booths. Baked goods, cleaning baskets, prizes, etc are all being accepted by the Social Committee for use in the carnival games. Gloucester Catholic falls in showdown

The Green Knights turned a highly anticipated showdown into a showcase for their sensational senior lefthander and their apparently underrated lineup.

On a cool, clear Saturday night in the Rockland Boulders\’ picturesque ballpark, Kaminsky pitched a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts as St. Joseph beat Gloucester Catholic, 6-1, in a matchup of two of New Jersey\’s best baseball teams.

Kaminsky, a North Carolina recruit projected as a likely first-round pick in the Major League Baseball draft in June, powered through the Rams\’ lineup with a fastball in the 90-m.p.h. range and a devastating breaking ball.

He also threw about 15 to 20 change-ups, by far his most of the season.

\”That\’s the best team we faced,\” Kaminsky said of Gloucester Catholic (16-3), the No. 1 team in The Inquirer\’s South Jersey rankings as well as the No. 1 team in the Newark Star-Ledger state rankings. \”I had to break [the change-up] out.\”
