Memorial Service for Rev. Barbara L. Harris on Thursday, April 19 at the Church of the Ascension

 

Rev. Barbara L. Harris went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Victoria, TX. She was born October 30, \"Images-3\" 1931 in Baltimore, MD to the late Samuel and Rose Stein. She attended school in Baltimore and graduated with a nursing degree from Sinai Hospital. She worked as a nurse for many years in Baltimore, MD and Cherry Hill, NJ but found her true calling while attending Grace Church in Haddonfield.

 

Barbara attended The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church in New York. She then served in the Diocese of New Jersey as Assistant at St. John\’s, in Elizabeth; Rector of Trinity Church, in Swedesboro; Vicar of St. Stephen\’s, in Florence; and as Retired Priest Associate at the Church of the Ascension, in Gloucester City.

 

Rev. Harris is survived by her three sons: Mark Harris of Victoria, Texas, Dan Harris of Park City, Utah, and Jeff Harris of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Sean Harris of Victoria, Texas and Jonathan and Lauren Harris of Fort Worth, Texas, and her sister Rhea Harris of Shalimar, Florida. A Memorial Service with Eucharist will be held Friday, April 19th, 11:00AM at the Church of the Ascension, 110 S. Sussex St., Gloucester City, NJ. The interment of ashes will follow in Harleigh Cemetery in Camden. Funeral arrangements had been entrusted to ETHERINGTON-CRERAN FUNERAL, GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ
