Team partners with local charity to promote Hurricane Sandy relief


CAMDEN, NJ. The Camden Riversharks have announced a partnership with Hometown Heroes for the 2013 season opener at Campbell’s Field.

The Riversharks will play their home opener against the Bridgeport Bluefish on Tuesday, April 23 at 7:05 p.m. with proceeds from the night going to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The team will donate proceeds from the night to the New Jersey-based charity organization, Hometown Heroes, to benefit the \”Restore the Shore\” campaign.

First Lady Mary Pat Christie Leads Nation’s First Spouses in Raising Awareness of Down Syndrome Cognitive Research

 

March 20, 2013 (Trenton, NJ) – Recognizing the groundbreaking advances being made in the area of Down syndrome cognitive research, First Lady Mary Pat Christie announced today that Drumthwacket, the Governor’s Official Residence, will be lit in blue Thursday evening, March 21, to support the national Light the Way initiative. This year, Mrs. Christie is being joined by First Spouses from 22 states and territories, including Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Virgin Islands, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming in endorsing this event.

Beloved wife of the late John L. Loberto. Devoted mother of Frank Loberto (Linda), Robert Loberto, Barbara Loberto and the late Patricia Loberto. Loving grandmom of Gina, Nicholas, Alyssa, and John. Dear sister of the late Florence Anastasia and Antoinette Carrabs. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing from 8:45 to 10:15am Tuesday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass 11am at St. Rita of Cascia Parish, Mary, Mother of the Church, Bellmawr.

Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

ROWAN BASEBALL DEFEATS WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON, 9-1

WINTER HAVEN, FL – The Rowan University baseball team defeated Washington and Jefferson College, 9-1 on Thursday afternoon at Chain of Lakes Field.

Right-hander Steven Melchiorre (sr. Atco, NJ/Hammonton) threw eight innings for his second win on the season. He (2-1) only gave up three hits and one earned run. Melchiorre struck out five batters. Righty Tyler Dean was the losing pitcher. He (0-1) went four innings and allowed four hits and six runs, two were earned.
