MARCH 6, 2013-Ewing, NJ… Excellence on the field has always been a trademark for The College of New Jersey field hockey program, but the team has proven throughout the years they are equally as successful when it comes to academics. 

The Lions were a recipient of the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Team Award, while 11 individuals were named to the Division III National Academic Squad.

The New Jersey Fish and Game Council, in coordination with the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council, and the Department of Environmental Protection\’s Division of Fish and Wildlife, has modified the regulations for American shad in marine and fresh waters of the state.

The regulations for American shad in New Jersey waters are as follows effective January 1, 2013:

The borough’s volunteer fire department reported recording a 58-mph wind gust this afternoon as crews responded to numerous toppled poles and fallen wires.

By late morning, so many poles had fallen on Stone Harbor Boulevard that the entire road had to be closed, said Cape May County spokeswoman Lenora Boninfante.

At the height of the outages, Atlantic City Electric reported 2,800 customers without power, Boninfante said. By early evening, power was restored to all residents, Mayor Suzanne Walters said.

There were no mandatory or voluntary evacuation orders in place but Walters said she suspects most residents without electricity would have decided to leave if the outage had been prolonged.
