The nation is recovering from a natural disaster. Again. This time it is Sandy. A few months ago it was the drought. Last year there was Irene. A few years ago it was Hurricane Ike that devastated Galveston, TX. In 2005 it was Rita, Wilma, and of course Katrina. But we could look further back at Hurricane Andrew in 1992, the Great Midwest Flood of 1993 and the Northridge earthquake of 1994. Clearly we could go on about the many disasters that occurred in between.

NEW YORK, Nov. 5, 2012 – Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit arrived here yesterday via CH-53E helicopters to aid Staten Island impacted by Superstorm Sandy.

PHILADELPHIA – To honor the men and women that served our country, La Salle is offering free admission to all veterans (with proper identification) for the Explorers contest vs. Delaware on Saturday. The game is set to begin at 3 p.m. and will include veteran recognition during a media timeout with a color guard presentation. Homecoming festivities will occur at halftime.

The Explorers are coming off a 61-58 exhibition win over Carleton on Friday night.
