Departments of Agriculture, Transportation Join to Support Agritourism

 

(CHESTER) – New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher and Deputy Transportation Commissioner Joseph Mrozek today visited Alstede Farms in Chester Township, one of 23 agritourism operations in the state benefitting from highway signs directing drivers to their locations.

 

Working with the Department of Agriculture, the New Jersey Department of Transportation significantly revised its Tourist Oriented Destination Sign (TODS) program and tailored it to the needs of agritourism in an effort to help agricultural businesses build their base of regular customers and attract higher numbers of tourists.

PHILADELPHIA – Temple scored five minutes into the game and never looked back in handing La Salle a 2-1 Atlantic 10 loss on Friday afternoon at DeVincent Field. Junior Olivia Shoemaker (Telford, Pa. / Souderton) scored the Explorers\’ only goal while sophomore Lisa Shaffer (Hershey, Pa. / Lower Dauphin) stopped ten shots by the Owls potent offense, which leads the A-10 in goals, assists and points.

1971 Gloucester Catholic HS Football Team Honored

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (October 2012)–Gloucester Catholic’s 1971 unbeaten, untied football team was honored on Saturday, October 20, 2012, during a reunion of team members at Gloucester Catholic High School. Team players, coaches, and staff were honored prior to the Rams’ 10:30 a.m. homecoming game against Woodstown in a special ceremony.

Guided by former coach Bob McQuillan, the 1971 Rams posted a 9-0 overall record, led by All-South Jersey standouts Jack Long and Steve Rotella, along with quarterback Steve Johnson. They capped a spectacular season with a 34-29 victory over Middle Township team in November 1971.
