SAINT BLAISE REGIONAL SCHOOL WILL NOT OPEN DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT

 

The proposed Saint Blaise Regional School in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia will not be able to open in September 2012 as previously planned. Saint Blaise Regional School was formed out of the Blue Ribbon Commission recommendations announced in January 2012 to merge Saint Bridget Parish School and Holy Child Regional School into one school serving the families of East Falls and Manayunk.

Roth Leads South Carolina to Win over Kent State | NCAA.com

OMAHA, Neb. — Michael Roth pitched a two-hitter and two-time defending national champion South Carolina eliminated Kent State from the College World Series with a 4-1 victory on Thursday.

The game had been postponed by rain Wednesday.

The Gamecocks (47-18) play again Thursday night against Arkansas. They need two wins against the Razorbacks to advance to the championship round that starts Sunday.

Grayson Greiner and Chase Vergason hit consecutive RBI singles in the second inning to erase Kent State’s 1-0 lead. LB Dantzler homered in the third against Tyler Skulina (11-2).

Kent State (47-20) finished 1-2 in its first CWS appearance.

Roth (9-1) struck out eight and walked none. He retired 22 in a row after giving up Sawyer Polen’s RBI single in the second inning.

NRA Supports Resolution Finding Holder in Contempt

Fairfax, Va. – The U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform passed a resolution recommending that the House find Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr. in contempt of Congress by a 23 to 17 vote. 

\”The NRA fully supports this contempt resolution,\” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of NRA\’s Institute for Legislative Action. \”The American people – including millions of NRA members and tens of millions of NRA supporters – deserve the truth, and we will support any effort that leads us to that truth.\”

Thomas E. Fewer Succumbs, retired Gloucester City HS Employee, former Rotary Member

On June 20, 2012. Of Haddonfield. Formerly of Gloucester City. Survived by his wife, Patricia D. \"Images-3\" (nee Roswell), his children Danielle Fewer and Thomas John Fewer, his brother John Fewer (Nancy), his sister Eileen Fewer, many nieces and nephews and best friend Ronald Pritchett. 

 

Thomas was the former Distributive Education Program Coordinator for Gloucester City Jr. / Sr. High School for many years. He was a former member of the Gloucester City Rotary Club. He graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School Class of 1966.

 

Relatives, friends and the Gloucester City High School Community are invited to his visitation on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Catholic visitation service will begin at 8 PM in the funeral home.
