(June 14) Squrt 31 and Ladder 44 were originally dispatched for an alarm system. Upon squrt 31\’s arrival they found smoke showing from the building and sprinkler system activated. 31\’s officer had the boxed filled bringing the additional resources.

Upon entry 31\’s officer reported there was a small fire in a battery bank charging system with an active sprinkler flowing.

 OMAHA, Neb. — During the past 22 years, Stony Brook head coach Matt Senk has taken the Seawolves’ baseball program from an afterthought to national contender.

In 1991, SBU was a Division III program that had posted just six winning seasons since 1966. Through the years, the school transitioned to DII, and in 2000 it began competing at the DI level.

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C., June 15, 2012 – \”Help!\” someone faintly calls out.

 

You look out to the ocean and see a man\’s arms flailing about, half a mile into the surf, struggling to stay afloat as waves crash down on him. What would you do, knowing lifeguards are not close enough to save him?Three 4th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Airmen assigned here found themselves in this situation while spending the day at Atlantic Beach, N.C., and on June 2 saved the life of a 49-year-old man.
