Congressman Andrews Announces a Much-Needed Raise for People on Social Security

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andrews announced that more than 55 million Social Security recipients nationwide will receive a 3.6% increase in their benefits through a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). The increase comes at the right time for retirees, senior citizens, and disabled people who are struggling to keep up with the rising costs to meet their basic needs. This past summer Representative Andrews fought hard in Congress to protect social security benefits for South Jersey’s retired and disabled as well as all Americans who have been paying into social security for their entire working lives.

Official: Troops in Central Africa for Months, Not Years-cnbnews.net

WASHINGTON, Oct. 25, 2011 – About a hundred U.S. troops being deployed to Central Africa will be there for months — not years — and only until the national armies of the region are capable of dismantling the terrorist group known as the Lord\’s Resistance Army, a senior Pentagon official told Congress members today.

Joann Young and Gene Mignogna who are running in the November 8 election for the Pennsauken Township Committee released the following statement today about the Killion-McBride Campaign violating the township\’s sign ordinance. Their statement reads as follows,

 

We have concerns with the Pennsauken Township Code Enforcement Department when dealing with the reigning 30 year political party and their abuse of local ordinances. We have documented three instances that the Killion-McBride Campaign Committee has violated with their signs and placement.
