The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded more than $613 million to strengthen all-hazards emergency preparedness in the 50 states, four large metropolitan areas, and eight U.S. territories and Pacific island areas.

HHS’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention administers the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) cooperative agreement, which supports state, local, and territorial health departments in demonstrating measurable and sustainable progress toward achieving 15 public health preparedness capabilities and other activities that promote safer and more resilient communities.

He proudly served our country and retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy. During his tour of duty he was stationed in many European countries and also the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Louis started the Chief Petty’s Officer Club at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in the 1950’s. Following his naval career, he was the owner of Bongiovanni Medical Supplies in Philadelphia for 38 years, the President of Rayo Chemical Company and for the last 18 years, he worked in the Men’s Department at Macy’s in Cherry Hill. Louis was a Past President of the Lions Club in Philadelphia.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday, August 23 from 10 to 11:15 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church: 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 AM in the Church. Interment with U.S. Navy Honors in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. Teresa loved the time she spent working with her friends at Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they meant the world to her.
